SHAWANO, WI – The Hawks season would end on the road as they battled tough against a very tough undefeated Lakeland Union team.
Shawano had multiple chances in the attacking half of the field to open up the scoring, but nothing would find the back of the net as the Thunderbirds defense stood tall.
A goal from the Thunderbirds in the 32nd minute would put Lakeland up 1-0 at the break. Shawano was not done without a fight in the 2nd half though. Jorel Shaver would answer that call with a 62nd minute header off a corner kick over the keeper’s head.
Lakeland would answer back quickly with a goal of their own in the 66nd minute that would end up being the game winner.
Shawano ends their impressive season at 16-3-1, falling short of a 2nd consecutive state trip.
