BEAR CREEK, WI – A man is facing multiple felony charges after allegedly robbing a Bear Creek bank at gunpoint earlier this month. Martin Muniz-Lara was formally charged Monday with robbery of a financial institution and theft of property between $5,000 and $10,000, and is being held on $300,000 cash bond.
According to the criminal complaint, Muniz-Lara entered Premier Community Bank in Bear Creek on October 17, displayed a gun, and claimed he had a bomb before taking $9,305. Investigators say he even climbed over the counter during the robbery before fleeing the scene. Muniz-Lara has denied the allegations in an interview with police and is scheduled to return to court November 13 for a status conference.
