The Shawano Police Department handled a busy day of calls with reports ranging from welfare checks to reckless driving and a late-night assault. Around 2 a.m., officers responded to a suspicious activity report on South Park Street. The caller used a 911 emergency alert, and police quickly checked the area, clearing the scene about fifteen minutes later.
A few hours later, just before 4 a.m., officers were called to Shawano Health Services on South Lincoln Street for a welfare check after a caller reported concern for a friend at work. That situation was also resolved without incident.
At sunrise, police investigated disorderly conduct at a home on East Randall Street. Several officers and an ambulance responded, and the call was cleared about a half hour later.
Later in the day, officers handled a reckless driving complaint on Waukechon and East Richmond Streets, a shoplifting report at Kwik Trip on East Green Bay Street, and a vehicle lockout in the Walmart parking lot.
Police also received calls about barking dogs on East Maurer Street, a harassment complaint at Newcap on Lakeland Road, and a deer injured near East Richmond Street.
Evening calls included a disturbance near a basketball court on Main Street, where one person reported being assaulted, and a restraining order violation at an apartment complex on Mountain Bay Trail Drive.
Clintonville Police kept busy Thursday into early Friday with a mix of routine patrols and community calls.
Officers handled several business checks throughout the night and early morning hours, with stops on South Main, Industrial, and Commercial Avenues, as well as Autumn and Summer Streets.
Police also made several traffic stops, including along Highway 45 near County Highways C and O, and in neighborhoods around 12th Street and Lyons, plus West Green Tree Road and Harriet Street.
An internet crime was reported on West Green Tree Road late Thursday morning, while suspicious activity was checked out on 8th Street, and again near East 2nd and Cedar Streets.
Emergency responders were called to Garfield Avenue for an ambulance run, and officers assisted other agencies on East Madison Street and Quarterline Road.
And Thursday evening, Clintonville Police took part in a community engagement effort along South Main Street.
The Shawano County Sheriff’s Office handled a busy Thursday, responding to more than two dozen calls ranging from traffic incidents and animal complaints to an assault late in the evening.
Deputies began their day around 1:30 a.m. with an injured deer on Lake Drive near Shawano Shores. The animal had been struck by a vehicle and had to be put down.
Just after 2 a.m., deputies responded to a property damage crash on County Road A in the Town of Richmond. No injuries were reported.
At 5:30 a.m., A man turned himself in at the Shawano County Jail on an outstanding warrant. Later that morning, deputies were called to Highway 117 in Cecil for another car versus deer crash.
Around 8 a.m., a disturbance was reported on Pioneer Road near Clintonville, where a roommate dispute required law enforcement intervention. The situation was resolved without arrests.
Throughout the day, deputies handled several reckless driving complaints — including multiple reports along Lake Drive and Highway 22 — as well as a utility pole fire near Wittenberg.
In the afternoon, a civil dispute in Cecil involved a property line disagreement between neighbors, while another caller in Shawano reported a stolen vehicle taken without permission.
By evening, deputies responded to animal-related calls across the county, including an animal bite reported through ThedaCare Shawano’s emergency room.
And just before 11 p.m., officers were dispatched to 1st Street Village of Aniwa for a report of an assault, which remains under investigation.
