MARION, WI- For the first time since 2011, the Marion Mustangs are moving on in the Volleyball postseason with a clean sweep of Stockbridge on Tuesday in the opening round the Division 5 Regionals. The Mustangs made quick work and a team effort to reach some new heights. Sophomore Brea Wegner says it felt good to get a postseason win.
“This is an accomplishment to make it past the first round, so that is a relief and we have a second round game on Thursday.”
Wegner said the season has been full of ups and downs, but they are playing well at the right time.
“It’s playoff season now, so we are hoping to make it through.
Mustang Coach Charlotte Baldwin says this season has had a different feel.
“We have really focused on getting the atmosphere changed around and making it a team sport, so it has really made a difference.
The Mustangs will take on Almond-Bancroft in the second round.
