
Leland James Carroll, age 90, of Leopolis passed away on Monday October 20, 2025, at his home. Leland was born on October 28, 1934, in the Town of Red Springs to the late Perry and Arlene (Lewin) Carroll. He served his country proudly in the United States Air Force. On September 2, 1961, Leland was united in marriage to Sabina Lou Ready at Immaculate Heart of Mary in Chicago, Illinois. The couple spent a wonderful 49 years together before Sabina’s passing in 2010. Leland worked at Four Wheel Drive in Clintonville for many years before retiring. He always enjoyed attending his children’s, grandchildren’s and great-grandchildren’s sporting events. In his free time Leland loved riding his bike anywhere and everywhere and he also enjoyed dancing. He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Leopolis. Leland was a wonderful father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle and friend and will be deeply missed.
Leland is survived by his four daughters, Lee Ann (Joseph) Lanucha, Valerie Fehrman, Sabina (Brian) Peters, and Mary (Michael) Creapeau; six sons, James (Annette) Carroll, David Carroll, Patrick Carroll, Gregory Carroll, Thomas (Kim) Carroll and Vincent Carroll; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and special friend, Janice Grosskopf. He is further survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Leland is preceded in death by his wife, Sabina; brothers, Arlen “Bucky” Carroll, John Carroll, Thomas Carroll and Peter Carroll; son-in-law, Douglas Fehrman; and parents, Perry and Arlene Carroll.
A Funeral Mass for Leland will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, October 27, 2025, at St. Mary Catholic Church in Leopolis with Fr. Vincent Onyango Okumu officiating. Visitation will be held at Swedberg Funeral Home in Shawano on Sunday from 2:00 pm until 5:00 pm with a Rosary Service at 4:30 pm. Visitation will also be held at the church on Monday from 9:30 am until the time of service. Burial will be in the church cemetery following the service and Military honors will be conducted by the Caroline American Legion Post #456.
