Shawano Police handled a variety of calls throughout Sunday, ranging from welfare checks to domestic disputes.
Officers responded to several disturbances overnight. Just before 5 a.m., a caller on Richmond Court reported a man and woman arguing loudly in a backyard. Police arrived within minutes and cleared the scene after the situation calmed down.
A short time later, officers returned to Richmond Court for a separate call — this time, a report of a stolen vehicle. The complainant told police his 2002 blue Jeep Grand Cherokee was missing, taken while he was in custody on a prior case. That investigation remains active.
Later in the morning, police were called to the Fuel On gas station on East Green Bay Street after staff reported a man refusing to leave the women’s restroom. Officers escorted the individual out without incident.
Around noon, a disturbance was reported at Safe Haven on Lakeland Road involving a man and woman known to each other. Officers met with the victim at another address to take a report.
In the evening, Shawano officers handled two calls on East Center Street involving a disturbance and a custodial dispute, followed by a late-night welfare check back at Safe Haven when a caller heard noises near the dumpsters.
Finally, just after 1:30 a.m. This Morning, police responded to a domestic disturbance on North Airport Road involving a man and woman. Multiple officers from Shawano and the sheriff’s office assisted at the scene.
Clintonville Police Officers responded just after midnight to a noise complaint on East Morning Glory Drive. No further issues were reported. Early morning patrols included school and business checks along Green Tree Road and Commercial Avenue.
Later in the morning, police investigated two reports of suspicious activity — one on West Morning Glory Drive and another on North 12th Street. Officers checked the areas but found no criminal activity.
In the afternoon, a harassment complaint was filed on Robert Street, followed by a welfare check on Flora Way, where officers ensured everyone was safe.
Evening patrols continued across the city, with several traffic stops made along Highway 45, South Main Street, and Hemlock Street.
The day ended around 10:15 p.m. when police executed a warrant on South Clinton Avenue.
The Shawano County Sheriff’s Deputies began the early morning hours investigating reports of UTVs speeding down Old Lake Road in the town of Shawano. A short time later, a disturbance was reported in Wittenberg, which officers quickly resolved.
Around 8 a.m., deputies were called to Kolpack Road near County D for an animal complaint — six cows had wandered into the roadway. The owner was located, and the animals were returned safely.
Later that morning, a driver on Highway 29 near Eland reported a swerving SUV that deputies were unable to locate. In another case, a man in Shawano was cited for possessing a THC vape pen following a drug complaint.
Midday brought several calls — a lockout at a pumpkin patch in Birnamwood, a trespassing complaint on Ash Circle in Shawano, and multiple reckless driving reports near Highways 22, 47, and 45. One driver reportedly went into and out of a ditch, forcing other motorists off the road.
In the evening, deputies responded to a welfare check on Hickory Road after a driver was spotted sitting on her hood along the roadside. Officers made contact and ensured she was safe.
Later that night, deputies investigated a property damage crash on County Trunk A near Shawano after a caller reported a vehicle hitting garbage cans and driving away. The driver was identified, and that case remains under review.
