SHAWANO, WI – As Shawano’s 2025 city budget takes shape, City Clerk Lesley Nemetz says officials are carefully reviewing every detail to ensure taxpayer dollars are used responsibly. “We’re working on our CIP projects, which are street projects and all the different things. The rec center, like you mentioned, there’s a lot of things coming down the pike for next year,” Nemetz explained.
City leaders say their goal is to be responsible stewards of public funds while continuing to support key services and improvements that enhance the community. As the budgeting process moves forward, Nemetz emphasizes that transparency and public engagement remain top priorities.
Residents are encouraged to take part in the discussion by attending the public budget hearing on Wednesday, November 19th at 6 p.m. at Shawano City Hall, where citizens can ask questions and share their feedback before the budget is finalized.
