Shawano police handled a variety of calls Tuesday — including welfare checks, shoplifting, a disabled vehicle, and a report of a firearm donation.
Officers and EMS were called early in the morning to Waukechon Street, where a 39-year-old woman was reported sick and diabetic. She was conscious and breathing when help arrived.
Around mid-morning, police responded to a parking violation downtown on North Main Street where a vehicle was parked in a handicapped space without authorization.
A short time later, officers were sent to Charlie’s County Market on South Main for a shoplifting incident
At about 11 a.m., police investigated a minor two-vehicle crash near County Trunk K and Airport Drive. One driver, reportedly rear-ended another vehicle near a yield sign. No injuries were reported.
Later, a welfare check was requested on South Union Street after a caller said a neighbor’s home was unusually dark and strange noises were heard. Officers confirmed the situation was under control.
Police also assisted Goodwill Industries on Lakeland Road after staff discovered a firearm had been mistakenly donated. The weapon was safely retrieved by officers.
Other calls Tuesday included a deer needing to be dispatched on County Highway B, a threatening complaint on Acorn Street, and a late-night disturbance near East Division and South Andrews Streets where several people were reportedly yelling in the street.
Clintonville police had a steady Tuesday, responding to several routine patrols, traffic stops, and a few calls for service around the city.
Officers conducted extra patrols overnight and early in the morning on Memorial Circle and 20th Street, with an additional school patrol later on West Green Tree Road.
A pair of ordinance violations were reported during the day — one on Stewart Street and another on South Main Street — followed by a disorderly conduct incident on West Campus Drive.
Police also checked out a suspicious situation on 20th Street around 1:30 p.m., and an ambulance was called to North Main Street shortly after 3:30.
Later in the day, officers responded to a traffic issue at South Main and West Madison, a 911 call from Anne Street, and multiple evening traffic stops — including locations on East First Street, South Main, and North 12th at Elm.
Shawano County deputies responded to more than 40 calls for service on Tuesday, including several welfare checks, traffic crashes, and reports of reckless driving.
Deputies investigated a drug-related incident just after 1:30 a.m. near Northwood and Oakwood Drives in the Town of Wescott. A vehicle was towed from the scene.
A short time later, a welfare check was made on Cypress Road in the Town of Richmond, followed by a traffic hazard near Highway 47 and County Trunk S in Bonduel where a deer was blocking the road. Another car-versus-deer crash was reported later that morning on Highway 29 near County T.
Around 10:40 a.m., deputies handled a bail jumping complaint in Aniwa after a caller reported a man intoxicated and locked in a vehicle. A fraud investigation was also opened in Tigerton involving multiple unauthorized credit card charges from a business overseas.
Officers responded to a rear-end collision at County Trunk K and Airport Drive and later investigated an illegal burn complaint near Bonduel after someone reported black smoke coming from a property.
Several welfare checks were conducted during the day, including one for a dialysis patient who reportedly made suicidal statements, and another involving a guardianship dispute between parents.
Deputies also assisted Goodwill Industries and Human Services with separate standby and transport requests, responded to a disabled vehicle along Highway 29, and helped fire crews with a smoke alarm call at Wolf River Lutheran High School.
Later in the day, officers cited two reckless drivers for illegally passing stopped school buses near Birnamwood, and one person was injured in a crash on Highway 45 and County ZZ.
The Stockbridge-Munsee Police Department logged three calls Tuesday — a disturbance at Bowler School, a standby in Gresham, and a drug case in the Town of Morris.
