CLINTONVILLE, WI – A July police pursuit through downtown Clintonville has resulted in criminal charges for a 22-year-old Iola man.
According to the Clintonville Police Department, Trenton O’Neil fled a traffic stop around 11:30 p.m. on July 24 after an officer suspected him of driving without a valid license. The chase reached speeds of 80 miles per hour as O’Neil raced through city streets, reportedly swerving toward a squad car before officers called off the pursuit for safety reasons.
No injuries or property damage were reported during the two-mile chase. Investigators later identified O’Neil as the driver through surveillance footage from Kwik Trip. He now faces multiple charges, including attempting to flee an officer and operating a vehicle while revoked.
