A local family is mourning the loss of a beloved daughter, but they say her legacy will live on through the lives she saved.
Leanna passed away last week after suffering a massive asthma attack, her father, Frank Jakubiec, confirmed. Jakubiec described his daughter as “one of the most loving people you’d ever meet,” adding that she loved everyone and embraced life fully.
While the family grieves, they are also finding comfort in Leanna’s final act of generosity. Her decision to be an organ donor has already saved five lives, including a 55-year-old man, a 30-year-old, a 25-year-old, an 18-year-old, and a four-year-old girl.
Jakubiec called his daughter a true hero, saying her selfless gift is giving multiple patients a second chance at life. “Knowing her choice is helping others is bringing us peace,” he said.
Leanna’s story, her family says, is one of love, compassion, and hope, and they believe her impact will be felt for years to come.
