CLINTONVILLE, WI – The dream of outdoor classrooms in Clintonville is becoming a reality thanks to a major boost from the community. During last month’s construction committee meeting at Clintonville High School, Superintendent Troy Kuhn confirmed that outdoor classrooms were on the agenda and that the district was committed to moving forward with the project.
“We’ve always wanted to build some outdoor classrooms on both sides, the middle school, high school, as well as the elementary,” Kuhn said. The Clintonville Elementary PTO kicked things off with a $15,000 donation earlier this year, but bids for the project came in closer to $30,000.
That funding gap is now closed thanks to a generous citizen who recently stepped forward. “I had a member of the community come in last week and hand me a check for $15,000,” Kuhn said.
With the project now fully funded, the district hopes to begin construction soon. The goal is to have the outdoor classrooms ready for teachers and students to use as quickly as possible, creating a new hands-on learning environment that will serve students for years to come.
