@ Green Bay Preble Invite – 9/19 & 9/20
#3 Hortonville 3, #20 De Pere 2
The Hortonville Polar Bears picked up another win to remain perfect on the season on Friday as they dispatched the #20 ranked Redbirds. Goals for Hortonville came from Elliot Vedder, Noah Rindt and Roman Glad. Grant Decker made 5 saves in goal over 80 minutes to preserve the 1 goal lead and win.
#3 Hortonville 3, Green Bay Preble 1
The Polar Bears went in to Saturday and came out undefeated once more as they beat the Hornets 3-1. Goals from Hortonville came from Fenton Hirschi, and two goals from Roman Glad. Grant Decker made 4 saves on goal.
After the two wins, Hortonville improves to 11-0-1 on the season.
@ Kiel Invite
The Freedom Irish were at Kiel’s invite over the weekend and came away with a 3-0 weekend. Results below:
Freedom 1, Kiel 0
The lone goal was all that was needed in the Irish win on Saturday morning as they beat the host school 1-0. Sawyer Rueckl had the lone goal to put the Irish on top. Gavin Brennenstuhl had 2 saves in net.
Freedom 1, Lakeside Lutheran 1 (On PK’s – Freedom Wins)
The Freedom Irish played the Warriors of Lakeside Lutheran next and it was a battle as the Irish came out on top in PK’s to win.
Freedom 1, Roncalli 0
The magic number for the Irish was 1 yet again as that’s all they needed to defeat Roncalli. The goal scored in overtime to give Freedom the win was by Cal Calhoon.
With a perfect weekend under the belts in Kiel, the Irish improve to 7-1-2 overall.
@ Port Washington Invite – 9/19 & 9/20
The Luxemburg-Casco Spartans were in town for a invite hosted by the Pirates.
Port Washington 1, Luxemburg-Casco 0
On Friday, the Spartans lost their lone match of the day to the host school. It was a goal in the 2nd half that got the Pirates on the board and that was all they needed.
Wauwatosa West 5, Luxemburg-Casco 0
The Spartans dropped their Saturday game to a very good Trojans team. West got on the board in the 1st half with 2 goals and added 3 more in the 2nd to pull away.
After a winless weekend down near the port, the Spartans sit at 3-5-1 overall.
@ Kaukauna Invite – 9/20
The Seymour Thunder were in action in Kaukauna taking on Oshkosh North and Beloit Memorial. Results below:
Oshkosh North 8, Seymour 0
The Thunder got shut out by the Spartans in their 1st match of the day. North put up 6 goals in the 2nd to pull away.
#21 Beloit Memorial 8, Seymour 1
The Purple Knights were off and running in Seymour’s 2nd match of the day, putting 6 goals in the back of the net in the 1st half. The lone Thunder goal came in the 2nd half.
After a winless weekend in Kaukauna, the Thunder drop to 2-7-2 overall.
Non-Conference Action
Shawano 3, Medford 0
The Hawks picked up a win over the Raiders over the weekend on their home pitch. All 3 of Shawano’s goals came in the 1st half.
With the win, Shawano improves to 8-2-1 overall and Medford drops to 0-7-1.
Fox Valley Lutheran 2, Appleton North 1
The Foxes and the Lightning did battle on Saturday with the Foxes coming out on top on the road in a non-conference battle. It was a come from behind win for FVL who was down 1-0 at half and got 2 in the 2nd half to win. Goals for the Foxes came from Ezra Schaser and Kaleb Williams.
With the win, the Foxes improve to 7-3-1 while Appleton North drops to 4-5-1 overall.
