SHAWANO, WI – With homecoming week just around the corner, Shawano High School is reminding students to celebrate responsibly.
Athletic and Activities Director Joel Wondra says students should think twice before heading out to toilet paper homes and yards. “There’s a difference between toilet papering and doing damage to property,” Wondra said. “As fun as it can be, it’s not always fun for everybody else.”
Wondra also cautions that some pranks can quickly cross the line, sharing an incident from a neighboring community where students used paintball guns during homecoming week. The property owner, not realizing what was happening, confronted the group with a shotgun, a situation Wondra says could have ended very differently.
He urges students to make smart, safe choices so everyone can enjoy a fun and trouble-free homecoming celebration.
