OCONTO FALLS, WI – An Oconto Falls doctor accused of producing child pornography will remain in custody while his case moves forward in both state and federal court.
Federal prosecutors say Dr. Isaias Cupino took pictures and videos of a naked juvenile, according to a criminal complaint. He was originally charged in state court, but federal authorities added a charge of production of child pornography earlier this month.
In state court, Cupino faces multiple charges, including first-degree child sexual assault, sexual exploitation of a child, and possession of child pornography. If convicted, he could face decades in prison.
A preliminary hearing in the state case is scheduled for September 24 in Oconto County court.
