Tigerton 3, NEWCHAA 1
(18-25, 27-25, 25-22, 25-17)
The Tigers went on the road and picked up a road non-conference win against Northeast Wisconsin Christian HomeSchool in Green Bay Tuesday night. It was a back and forth affair, going 4 sets with NEWCHAA taking the 1st and the Tigers sweeping the rest. Tigerton was led by Presley Stewart-Rolfs with 16 kills on the night and 4 aces from the serving line. Sophomore Jaelyn Brady had 22 digs on the night as well.
With the win, Tigerton improves to 6-4 overall and NEWCHAA drops to 0-2 overall.
Wabeno/Laona 3, Bonduel 1
(16-25, 14-25, 25-23, 18-25)
The Bears and the Rebels did battle Tuesday night in a non-conference matchup. It was the Rebels defending homecourt in the end as they beat the Bears in 4 sets. Lily Terry for Wabeno/Laona had 12 kills.
With the loss, Bonduel drops to 7-6 overall and Wabeno/Laona improves to 12-4 overall.
Freedom 3, Winneconne 2
(19-25, 25-19, 25-18, 18-25, 15-9)
The Irish and the Wolves matched up in a battle of Northeast powers in WI volleyball. Back and forth all match was this one but it was the Irish who came out on top in 5 sets. Freedom was led by a huge night from Saylor Muelemans who had 30 kills.
With the huge non-conference win, Freedom improves to 11-6 overall and Winneconne drops to 9-3 overall.
Waupaca 3, Wisconsin Dells 0
(25-20, 25-19, 25-12)
The Comets took the long bus ride down to the Dells to take on the Chiefs but it was well worth it for Waupaca as they came away with a sweep of Wisconsin Dells. Peyton Carlson had 20 kills for the Comets and Molly Martens had 8 to her own ledger. The Comets defense shut down the Chiefs attack holding them to a -.024 hit percentage during the sweep.
With the win, Waupaca improves to 10-7 overall and Wisconsin Dells drops to 10-7 overall.
Marinette and Oconto Confernce
Crivitz 3, Coleman 0
(25-20, 25-17, 25-17)
In a battle of rivals in the M&O Conference, it was the Crivitz Wolverines beating the Cougars in straight sets. Coleman was led in kills by Alayna Gilbertson and 3 aces from Ava Zeitler. The Cougars offense was stagnant as they were held to a .012 hit percentage.
With the loss, Coleman drops to 5-10 overall and 4-2 in conference. Crivitz improves to 9-2 overall and remains undefeated in the M&O at 7-0.
Suring 3, St. Thomas Aquinas 0
(25-10, 25-13, 26-24)
The Eagles soared to a 3-0 sweep of the Cavaliers on Tuesday night. Suring was led by Sophomore Aliya Cox with 11 kills. Senior Chloe Schroder had 33 assists on the night.
With the win, Suring improves to 4-5 overall and 1-0 in the M&O. STAA drops to 0-2 overall and 0-2 in the conference.
Fox Valley Association
Hortonville 3, Appleton East 2
(25-21, 25-17, 17-25, 22-25, 15-9)
In a 5 set thriller, it was the Hortonville Polar Bears pulling out a impressive and important conference win on the road. After Hortonville had won the 1st two sets, Appleton East was thinking about a reverse sweep but the Hortonville defense shut down the Patriots in the final set allowing them only 9 points. Seniors Becca Krause and Rayna Nelson were in double digits with kills at 14 and 11 respectively. Brynley Wunderlich had 4 aces to help the cause.
With the win, Hortonville improves to 11-8 overall and 2-1 in the FVA and Appleton East drops to 6-13 overall and 0-3 in the FVA.
Bay Conference
Fox Valley Lutheran 3, Seymour 0
(25-18, 25-10, 25-5)
The Foxes made quick work of the Thunder in their home conference contest holding Seymour to 5 points in the final set. The Thunder started off strong with a close set 1, but FVL’s defense took over.
With the win, FVL improves to 12-5 overall and 2-0 in the Bay. Seymour drops to 5-11 overall and 0-3 in the Bay.
New London 3, Green Bay East 0
(25-20, 25-17, 27-25)
The Bulldogs swept the Red Devils on the road as New London picks up a huge conference win. The 3rd set went into extra points but it was New London’s defense in the end that held Green Bay East down and allowed the Bulldogs to escape with the win.
With the road win, New London picked up their 1st win on the season moving to 1-12 and 1-2 in the Bay. Green Bay East drops to
0-7 overall and 0-3 in the Bay.
Menasha 3, Green Bay West 0
(25-11, 25-13, 25-9)
The Bluejays swept the Wildcats in 3 sets on Tuesday night, earning a road conference win. The Bluejays defense held GB West to a -.324 hit percentage the entire match.
With the win, Menasha improves to 9-4 overall and 2-0 in the Bay. Green Bay West drops to 1-6 overall and 1-1 in the Bay.
#11 Xavier 3, Shawano 0
(25-9, 2514, 25-15)
The battle of the Hawks went to a very tough and ranked Xavier team. Xavier had their way with Shawano in the 1st set, only allowing 9 points. The sophomores led the way for Xavier with Rose Kendall and Lexi Allen leading the way with 7 kills. Grace Hackl added 5 aces.
With the win, Xavier improves to 17-3 overall and 3-0 in the Bay. Shawano drops to 6-13 and 0-2 in the Bay.
Central Wisconsin-South
Almond-Bancroft 3, Port Edwards 1
(25-17, 25-17, 24-26, 25-17)
In a battle of the birds, it was the Eagles soaring over the Blackhawks in a 4 set conference battle. A-B won the 1st two sets with the same set score of 25-17. Port Edwards won the 3rd and then it was the Eagles clinching the 4th set once again with the same score of 25-17.
With the win, Almond-Bancroft improves to 6-7 overall and 2-0 in the conference. Port Edwards drops to 3-9 overall and 0-2 in the conference.
Pacelli 3, Tri-County 0
(25-9, 25-18, 25-16)
The Cardinals got out quick and never looked back as Pacelli defeated the Penguins 3-0. After a tough 1st set, the Penguins battled back in sets 2 & 3 but the comeback was not enough as Pacelli shut down the Tri-County offensive attack.
With the win, Pacelli improves to 6-7 overall and 2-0 in CWC-South play. Tri-County drops to 6-9 overall and 0-1 in the CWC-South.
Central Wisconsin-North
Northland Lutheran 3, Bowler 0
(25-17, 25-15, 25-16)
The Wildcats and the Panthers locked horns on Tuesday night but it was the Wildcats in the end after a 3-set hard fought CWC-North matchup.
With the win, Northland Lutheran improves to 5-3 overall and 3-1 in the conference and Bowler drops to 1-6 overall and 1-2 in the CWC-North.
Gresham 3, White Lake 1
(26-24, 18-25, 25-17, 25-20)
The Wildcats and the Lakers were in action in a CWC-North battle on Tuesday night. The Wildcats started off with a close set 1 win that had to go to extra points, it was White Lake taking the 2nd set. The Wildcats settled in and took control of sets 3 and 4 to win 3-1. Senior Alivia Perez had 11 kills for Gresham. Emily Jensen had 6 aces from the serving line.
With the win, Gresham improves to 6-6 overall and 3-1 in the CWC-North. White Lake drops to 0-4 overall and 0-4 in the CWC-North, still seeking their 1st win.
Central Wisconsin-East
Shiocton 3, Weyauwega-Fremont 2
(25-23, 19-25, 12-25, 26-24, 15-10)
In perhaps the match across the state, it was a 5 set thriller in central Wisconsin on Tuesday. The Chiefs came in to the match with a close set 1 and then it was the Warhawks winning 2 straight and having all the momentum. Then the Chiefs turned the match on it’s head and won the next 2 to take the match in 5. Natalie Young and Cordelia Monnot were in double digits for kills at 12 and 10 respectively. Young also had 6 aces from the serving line to help the Chiefs to a very important win.
With the win, Shiocton improves to 15-4 overall and 2-0 in the CWC-East. Weyauwega-Fremont drops to 1-6 overall and 1-1 in CWC-East play.
North Eastern
Luxemburg-Casco 3, Denmark 0
(25-11, 26-24, 25-23)
It was a battle between the Spartans and the Vikings all match but it was the Spartans coming out on top with a road conference victory in straight sets. Aubrey Frey from Luxemburg-Casco hammered down 21 kills. Rylan Kaminski had 19 digs for the Spartans.
With the win, Luxemburg-Casco improves to 15-4 overall and 3-0 in the North Eastern. Denmark drops to 13-3 overall and 1-2 in the conference.
