Appleton West Terror Invite (Friday)
Pulaski, Hortonville and Shawano Record Strong Individual Finishes
The Kimberly Boys and Girls Cross Country claimed both team titles at Friday’s meet.
The Pulaski Red Raiders Boys squad took home 3rd place as a team and were paced by Senior Parker Marshall, Hortonville Boys took 6th place and Senior Cade Mansfield was the top finisher for the Polar Bears. Shawano Boys finished 14th out of 15 teams and the Hawks were led by Junior Josiah Kuehl.
On the Girls side, the Polar Bears of Hortonville finished 4th and were paced by Senior Hailey Falbo and Senior Hannah Huza, who came within 20 seconds apart from each other. The Pulaski Girls finished 8th as a team and were led by Sophomore Maggie Gerth. The Shawano Hawks Girls squad finished 12th out of 17 teams and were paced by Senior Bailey Hendricks and another Senior in Tela Hopfensperger.

Eau Claire Husky Invite (Saturday)
The Waupaca Cross Country team took the long trip across the state to compete on Saturday in Eau Claire. The Comets Boys team finished 15tj with a final score of 438. The Comets in the 5,000-meter run were led by Senior Gus Olson. The girls team finished 11th with them being led by Senior Syl Fries.

Area Volleyball Teams Battle To Key Wins
Pulaski
Pulaski lost to Oconto Falls 2-0, lost to #12 Mosinee 2-0, and then picked up their first win of the season with a 2-1 win over Aquinas on Friday. On Saturday, The Pulaski Girls Volleyball team started off hot beating Sturgeon Bay 3-0. then beat rivals Kaukauna 2-1, then losing their final match of the day to Sheboygan Falls 2-1. The Red Raiders record now stands at 3-3 after their weekend in Grand Chute.
Oconto Falls
The Panthers were roaring on Friday as they beat Pulaski 2-0, beating Aquinas 2-1, and then eventually falling to #12 Mosinee 2-0. The Panthers were paced by Junior Rhiana Van de Yacht as she posted 23 kills on the day during the Panthers matches.
Saturday was no different as the Panthers roared once again going 3-1 on the day losing their only match to #22 Bay Port and beating West Salem, Luxemburg-Casco and Kewaskum. The Panthers record now sits at 7-3 on the season.
Freedom
It’s not every day where you see a Wisconsin team take on a Michigan team but, in this case, it all worked out as Freedom took on Houghton and the Irish defeated Houghton (MI) 2-1. Norah Koss, a freshman for the Irish had 7 kills during the match. The luck of the Irish continued as they won their next 2 matches against Newman Catholic and Marshfield both with a score of 2-0.
Saturday, the Irish went 1-2 on the day with their lone win on the day coming against the Evergreens of D.C. Everest 2-0, and dropping matches against Luxemburg-Casco 2-0, and DeForest 2-1. The Irish now sit at a record of 6-4 on the season.
Seymour
On Friday, the Thunder played host Notre Dame and lost that match 2-1 and losing 2-0 to #4 Holmen.
Saturday, the Thunder went 1-2 on the day, dropping matches against Appleton East and Marshfield 2-0 before finishing on a positive note defeating Sturgeon Bay 2-0. The Thunder’s record sits at 1-7 after picking up their first win at the Notre Dame Invite.
Hortonville
On Friday, the Hortonville Polar Bears dropped both of their matches, one to New Berlin West 2-1 and the other to #13 West De Pere 2-0.
Saturday, the day started off well for the Polar Bears defeating Randolph 2-0. Hortonville dropped the rest of their matches that day against Manitowoc Lutheran 2-0 and Edgar 2-0 as well. The Polar Bears sit at a record of 4-5 after their weekend in Grand Chute.
Waupaca
The Comets on Friday, streaked to two wins over Sturgeon Bay 2-1 and defeating Manitowoc Lutheran 2-0 before dropping their only match of the day to #22 Bay Port 2-0.
Saturday, the Comets dropped their two matches on the day to #12 Mosinee 2-0 and to Luxemburg-Casco 2-0 as well. Senior Peyton Carlson led the way for the Comets hammering down 20 kills in the Lux-Casco match.
@ Lake Mills Volleyball Invite
Wittenberg-Birnamwood
The Chargers had a great showing at Lake Mills going 3-3 overall and ending up in the champions bracket before falling to Dominican 2-0. The Chargers picked up wins over Cashton, Sheboygan North and Fall River. Some leaders throughout the two days of the invite were Lily Metropulos with 6 aces on the first day of the tournament, 9 kills and 15 assists. Melaina Granquist also had 15 kills on the 1st day.
The 2nd day of the tournament would prove no different as there were 7 block kills by Metropulos, Granquist and Ava Brei.
The Chargers brought their record to 6-4 overall on the young season.
Clintonville
The Truckers were also at the Lake Mills Invite, they dropped two matches on the day losing to Ripon 2-0 and to Wisconsin Dells 2-0, there was no score between Clintonville and Dodgeland. They also dropped a match to Tomahawk on Saturday 2-0.
The Truckers’ record is now 0-3 and looking for their first win of the season.
@ Sun Prairie East
Wrightstown
The Wrightstown Tigers Volleyball team was in action in the Madison area. They went 2-2 on their first day gathering wins against Shoreland Lutheran 2-1 and Stoughton 2-0, no score was reported from the Tigers game against Beaver Dam, Wrightstown dropped their first two matches against De Pere 2-0 and #24 Sun Prairie West 2-0 as well.
On Saturday, the Tigers dropped both of their final matches in Sun Prairie losing to Lakeside Lutheran 2-0 and #14 Regis 2-1.
The Tigers record now sits at 3-6 overall.
@ Omro Invite (Saturday)
The Wild Rose Wildcats went 1-1 at the Omro Invite on Saturday beating Shawano 2-0 and losing in a tightly contested match 2-1 to St. Mary Catholic.
Shawano Hawks ended up losing 2-0 to Wild Rose and then were on fire defeating St. Mary Catholic 2-1, Wautoma 2-0, and the host Omro 2-0 before losing to St. Mary Catholic 2-0 on their final match of the day.
Shawano’s record now sits at 3-6.
Soccer
Pulaski 3, Holmen 3
In a back-and-forth boys soccer matchup Friday night, Pulaski and Holmen each traded goals before settling for a 3-3 draw. Pulaski struck quickly in the first half, building a 2-1 lead at halftime behind the finishing of Kevin Cruz Lagunes, who netted two goals, and AJ Schenk, who added another. Holmen answered with one before the break and then found the equalizer in the second half. Both teams pushed hard offensively, with Holmen tallying two goals after halftime to even the score at 3-3. Pulaski goalkeeper Jonah Drevs kept his squad in the game, recording five saves across 80 minutes of play.
