Shawano police responded to a series of calls yesterday, beginning with a 911 hang-up on South Cleveland Street just before 6 a.m. Officers investigated, but no emergency was found.
Not long after, a traffic hazard was cleared when Officers removed a large tree branch blocking Highview Avenue. Later in the morning, police received a complaint of reckless driving near Highway 47 and County Trunk A, where a silver car reportedly pulled out in front of another vehicle.
Around 9 a.m., officers were called to South Main Street for a harassment complaint involving an ex-boyfriend allegedly banging on windows. Police also handled a case of shoplifting at Walmart.
Other incidents included several disabled vehicles, a car that struck a building on Woodlawn Drive, and reports of threats between neighbors on South Sawyer Street. Officers also investigated suspicious activity after a car was seen driving on the Mountain Bay Trail near Memorial Park.
By evening, police assisted the county jail with an inmate extraction and later responded to a theft attempt at Shoe Sensation, where suspects were accused of tampering with security tags.
And late Thursday night, officers investigated a reckless driver reported to be on the wrong side of East Green Bay Street, as well as a welfare check involving concerning social media activity.
Clintonville Police were busy throughout the day making sure the city stayed safe and secure. Officers conducted several overnight business checks along Main and 5th Streets, ensuring storefronts were locked up and secure. Extra patrols were also carried out on 15th Street, South Main, and later in the evening near Memorial Circle.
During the day, officers assisted drivers with two vehicle lockouts — one on South Main Street and another on Morning Glory Drive. A traffic stop was made at 9th and South Main, and officers also responded to a citizen assist call on North Main.
Later in the evening, police carried out three welfare checks on Maize Street, 11th Street, and Flora Way, making sure residents were safe.
Overall, it was a steady day of routine patrols and community support, with no major incidents reported.
Shawano County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a variety of calls across the county. The day began with a vehicle lockout at a Kwik Trip in Shawano, followed by the arrest of an individual on an outstanding warrant. A 911 call in Bonduel turned out to be accidental.
Later in the morning, deputies assisted with a family standby in Cecil and handled a disabled vehicle that was leaking gas along Highway 22. A threatening complaint was logged on Esther Court in Shawano, and multiple calls came in throughout the afternoon regarding sick or injured deer along county roads.
Deputies also dealt with reckless driving reports on County Trunk E, Highway 29, and other roadways. In Wittenberg, officers responded to both harassment and disorderly conduct complaints involving ongoing disputes between neighbors.
By evening, an ATV problem was reported in Mattoon, and deputies were called to the Shawano County Fairgrounds for a person stuck in a bathroom and later for an information report about a ride located too close to a fence. A burning complaint was logged in Bonduel, and jail staff requested assistance at the county lockup.
Other calls included suspicious vehicles, welfare checks, and a traffic hazard near John’s One Stop. Late in the night, deputies responded to a crash involving a deer and assisted with a welfare check after a concerning video surfaced online.
Meanwhile, Stockbridge-Munsee police reported handling a welfare check in Gresham, a noise complaint on River Road, and provided backup to county deputies on other calls.
