Shawano Police responded to a variety of calls throughout the day on Thursday. Just after one o’clock in the morning, officers were called to an apartment on East Richmond Street for a report of people smoking marijuana. However, police said they did not detect any odor of drugs at the scene.
A few hours later, another call at the same apartment complex reported a disturbance, but the situation was resolved without further incident.
Later in the morning, police picked up a man wanted on an outstanding warrant at the Shawano Square Apartments. A second warrant arrest happened around one o’clock in the afternoon on South Andrews Street, where officers took a woman into custody. A third warrant arrest was reported in the late afternoon on East Center Street.
Among other calls, officers responded to a medical alert for a 79-year-old man who had fallen at his home, though he was not injured. A separate ambulance call involved a 71-year-old man suffering stroke-like symptoms.
In the evening, firefighters and police were dispatched to Shawano High School for a commercial fire alarm. No smoke or flames were found, but crews investigated to ensure the building was safe.
And finally, police handled a restraining order complaint at Franklin Park, a loud music disturbance on West Division Street, and even a stray dog running loose near Engel Drive.
Clintonville Police handled a variety of calls on Thursday. The day included multiple extra patrols and business checks across the city. Officers also responded to two medical calls, including one on Wilson Street, and investigated two separate suspicious activity reports.
Among other incidents, police were called for a noise complaint, a disorderly conduct case, and a domestic disturbance. Officers also documented a juvenile runaway, an ordinance violation, and assisted with a citizen request.
The Shawano County Sheriff’s Office responded to nearly 30 calls for service on Thursday. Early in the day, deputies handled a welfare check in the Town of Washington and a noise complaint in Shawano. Around six a.m., a woman turned herself in at the county jail on a warrant. Later that morning, deputies investigated a stolen vehicle in Bonduel and another theft report from Wittenberg.
A gas drive-off was reported at the Ho-Chunk Casino in Wittenberg, where investigators identified possible suspects. Deputies also assisted with a pair of medical emergencies, including one involving a man struggling to breathe.
In the afternoon, deputies responded to reckless dirt bike riders near Clintonville and to a traffic crash with injuries in the Town of Aniwa. Several suspicious activity reports were also logged, including one in Tigerton involving possible thefts from storage units.
Later in the evening, officers investigated a domestic disturbance, an OWI report, and multiple welfare checks across the county. A disturbance call near Loon Lake involved a woman claiming her fiancé pushed her after leaving the hospital. Deputies also dealt with a juvenile complaint in Birnamwood, where kids were reportedly vandalizing property near a gas station.
No major injuries were reported, but several investigations remain active.
