Cherry Hills Invite – Sturgeon Bay, WI
The 2025 Bay Conference North Division girls’ golf season teed off Wednesday at Cherry Hills Golf Resort in Sturgeon Bay, and Seymour wasted no time establishing itself as the team to beat. The Thunder posted a team score of 200 to take first place in the opening mini-meet of the season, well ahead of runner-up Shawano (231). Oconto (247), Bonduel (258), and host Sturgeon Bay (317) rounded out the team standings.
Leading the way for Seymour was junior Morgan Lewis, who carded a meet-low round of 42 to take medalist honors. Her steady play at the top was backed by teammates Maci Heagle (50), Lyla Schueler (52), and Ava Skenadore (56), giving the Thunder four golfers in the top seven of the individual standings.
Shawano secured second place behind strong rounds from senior Madelyn Moesch, who tied for fourth overall with a 55, and junior Grace Pensis (56). Lauren Seehafer (57) and Hailey Hawkinson (63) also contributed for the Hawks.
Oconto was paced by freshman Lacey Sikora, who matched Moesch for fourth place with a 55, while sophomore Sage Olson (61) and junior Kendra Steier (63) kept the Blue Devils competitive.
Bonduel’s top finishers were seniors McKenna Onesti and Morgan Staszak, both shooting 63 to tie for 11th. Senior Hailey Spates (63) also matched that score, with sophomore Leah Court (69) and junior Paige Wolf (71) rounding out the Bears’ lineup.
For host Sturgeon Bay, senior Keira Wesley led the way with a 67. Junior Maria Neri (76) and seniors Layla Stai (86) and Madelyn Schulz (88) helped the Clippers round out their scoring on home turf.
With their dominant start, Seymour takes the early lead in the Bay Conference North Division as teams look ahead to the rest of the mini-meet schedule.
Westridge Golf Club – Neenah, WI
The Bay Conference South Division girls golf season opened Thursday at Westridge Golf Club in Neenah, where Fox Valley Lutheran used balanced scoring to claim the first mini-meet title with a team score of 218. Winneconne finished second at 226, followed by St. Mary Catholic (234), Xavier (264), and New London (292).
Individually, Olivia Nagel of St. Mary Catholic took medalist honors with the low round of the day, a steady 42.
Fox Valley Lutheran placed four golfers in the top 10 to earn the team win, led by Elliot Kriewaldt (51), Cil Hermann (54), Grace Sauer (55), and Lily Kari (58).
Winneconne was paced by senior Jada Kaiser, who shot a 53 for third place overall. Seniors Mia Rust (54) and Emma Cegielski (54) tied for fourth, while sophomore Taryn Meyer (65) added depth to the Wolves’ lineup.
St. Mary Catholic backed up Nagel’s medalist round with three solid scores: Martha Peters (62), Scarlett Reichenberger (62), and Kieran Bergstrom (68).
For Xavier, Faye Hehli (61) led the way, while teammates Ainsley Sommers (62), Kayla Standish (70), and Hailey Hafner (71) rounded out the Hawks’ scoring.
New London’s top finisher was Jenna Handohke, who posted a 56. Savannah Tepoorten (71), Taylor Klotzbuecher (82), and Haedyn Wickersheim (83) added scores for the Bulldogs.
