Shawano Police handled a busy day of calls ranging from animal concerns to thefts and disorderly conduct. Officers investigated two separate vehicle repossessions early in the day, one on South Washington Street and another on South Kadletz Street.
Animal cases were prominent, with reports of a dog bite, a neglected dog tied up without food or shelter on South Water Street, and a kitten rescued after being stuck in a vehicle grill on Spruce Court.
Retail-related incidents included a stolen front license plate at Walmart and a disorderly customer at Dunham Sports who left the store but waited for police in the parking lot.
Officers also responded to a suspicious situation near North Franklin Street after someone reported hearing a child yell “let me out.” The matter was checked and resolved. Other calls included trespassing at Aarrowcast during an employee termination, harassment complaints, and multiple welfare checks—one involving a possible drug environment concerning a child.
The evening brought another theft report near East Green Bay Street and Woodlawn Drive. Police also assisted with 911 hang-up calls, parking complaints, and various disturbances throughout the day.
Clintonville Police handled a variety of incidents Wednesday, starting just after midnight with a report of a juvenile runaway on Modoc Street. Officers later conducted a welfare check on Flora Way and responded to two disorderly conduct calls—one again on Modoc Street and another on West Madison Street.
The morning saw a motor vehicle crash at South Main and Fifth Street, as well as a suspicious activity report on South Main. Officers also assisted another agency on Wilson Street.
Afternoon calls included property damage on Robert Street and Garfield Avenue, animal complaints on Fifth and 18th Streets, and a theft report from Robert Street.
In the evening, police responded to an ambulance call on Sixth Street, performed traffic stops, conducted extra patrols, and assisted another jurisdiction with a mutual aid request at Highway 45 and Alberts Road.
The Shawano County Sheriff’s Office responded to a variety of calls, ranging from noise complaints to reckless driving and welfare checks.
Just before 2 a.m., deputies investigated a noise complaint in Wittenberg, where loud music from a parked car was shaking a nearby home. The situation was resolved without incident.
Around 9:30 in the morning, deputies conducted a welfare check in the Town of Belle Plaine after a woman from Texas reported her father was locked in a bedroom and sitting in unsanitary conditions. Assistance was provided at the scene.
Traffic-related incidents kept deputies busy throughout the day, including multiple reports of reckless driving on Highway 29. In one case, a sport bike was reportedly traveling 90 miles an hour without a helmeted rider.
In Shawano, deputies responded to an afternoon disturbance in which a suspect allegedly smashed a woman’s car window before fleeing on foot along the Mountain Bay Trail.
Later in the evening, an OWI arrest was made near Pulaski, and deputies handled a reported animal bite, with the victim treated at ThedaCare Medical Center.
Stockbridge-Munsee Police also made an arrest during a traffic stop in Gresham, recovering a THC vape from the vehicle.
Authorities remind residents to report suspicious activity promptly.
