Shawano Police handled a variety of incidents on Monday, August 11th. Officers responded to a littering complaint early in the morning at Plank Road and Bay Lakes Road, where two large piles of garbage were reported. Public Works was notified for cleanup. A short time later, police contacted a woman seen running along Washington Street around 3:30 a.m., but no arrests were reported.
At 8:45 a.m., officers investigated a shoplifting at Charlie’s County Market. Police say a suspect was taken into custody on an outstanding warrant.
Other calls included an abandoned vehicle on South Sawyer Street, trespassing complaints at The Gathering property involving semi-truck drivers, and a warrant arrest near Division and Washington streets.
Later in the day, police responded to a dog bite incident reported by ThedaCare Medical Center, a theft of a bicycle at the city skateboard park, and a reckless driving complaint on Lake Drive. Officers also assisted with removing an uncooperative person from ThedaCare’s emergency room and investigated two separate car damage reports.
In all, Shawano Police handled more than two dozen calls for service, ranging from harassment and suspicious activity to helping a 65-year-old man who fell off a bicycle.
Clintonville Police were busy with a mix of patrols, investigations, and community calls.
The day began shortly after midnight with multiple business checks across the city, including along County Highway I, Commercial Avenue, and South Main Street. Officers also responded to an open door on East Green Tree Road.
Midday calls included a disorderly conduct report on West Green Tree Road, a trespassing complaint on West Morning Glory Drive, and a 911 hang-up from Flora Way. Police later handled a domestic disturbance on North Main Street, a pair of welfare checks, and another disorderly conduct report on 15th Street.
Evening activity included extra patrols at Pickerel Point Playground, Picnic Point, and Memorial Circle. Officers investigated a suspicious vehicle, responded to a carbon monoxide alarm on South Park Street, and made an OWI arrest on East Green Tree Road.
In total, Clintonville Police logged more than two dozen incidents ranging from traffic stops to community engagement.
The Shawano County Sheriff’s Office handled 34 calls for service, ranging from welfare checks to thefts and threats.
Deputies were called to a property in the town of Gresham after a man reported the theft of a vehicle, while a separate report from Shawano involved stolen checks and paperwork, allegedly taken by a juvenile at the request of another suspect.
Threats were reported in two incidents — one at Pond Park in Wittenberg, and another in the town of Green Valley, where a woman told deputies her son threatened to shoot her horses.
Deputies also responded to multiple 911 hang-ups, a reckless driving complaint on Highway 29 where the driver was reportedly smoking marijuana, and an intoxicated man stumbling near a Shawano school. Other calls included a trailer ramp blocking a turn lane, a disabled camper stopped on the white line with people sitting outside, and several medical assists.
In Cecil, a man told deputies he wasn’t safe to drive, prompting a welfare check. Another call involved concerns over a driver possibly heading toward Green Bay.
Meanwhile, the Stockbridge-Munsee Police Department handled a trespassing complaint in Gresham involving a family dispute.
