WAUPACA, WI- Tony Haase has been found not guilty in the 1992 murders of Tanna Togstad and Timothy Mumbrue.
A jury reached its verdict Monday morning after beginning deliberations last Wednesday, reviewing key evidence including a more than three-hour interrogation video in which Haase allegedly confessed.
The verdict was read shortly before 11 a.m., and Haase was released from custody about an hour later.
He had been charged in 2022, with prosecutors pointing to a connection between the case and the 1977 snowmobile crash that killed Haase’s father, in which Togstad’s father was involved.
