Shawano Police responded to a series of incidents Sunday into early Monday.
Officers were called to ThedaCare Medical Center around 1 a.m. for a disturbance involving a patient and another individual reportedly becoming violent and threatening hospital staff. Both were calmed down without further incident.
Just after 11 a.m., police were called to Walgreens on East Green Bay Street after reports of a man in his 20s urinating in bushes outside the store. Witnesses say the man, dressed in red pants and barefoot, drew complaints from passersby before officers made contact.
Later in the evening, two separate assaults were reported. In one case on Mountain Bay Trail, a caller told police they were attacked after answering a knock at their door, suffering facial injuries. In another, a woman reported her son was being assaulted at a separate location.
Other calls included a found wallet at a local pet wash, a disabled tractor-trailer, barking dogs left in a parked truck, and a welfare check on a woman with a toddler who appeared unsteady near the roadway.
Early Monday morning, officers also reported large piles of garbage at Plank Road and Bay Lakes Road, notifying city crews for cleanup.
Shawano Police continue to investigate the assault cases and other weekend incidents.
Clintonville Police Officers had a steady Sunday, beginning with a series of early morning business checks and extra patrols around the city’s commercial and downtown areas.
Just before 1 p.m., police were called to a trespassing complaint on East Morning Glory Drive. Later in the afternoon, officers assisted a motorist with a vehicle lockout on West Madison Street, followed by a traffic-related call on West Morning Glory Drive.
Two paper services were completed in the early evening on Brix Street and East 12th Street, and around 8:45 p.m., police provided agency assistance near West Street and West Madison Street.
The night wrapped up with a 911 call from West 14th Street, and an extra patrol of Memorial Circle shortly after 10 p.m.
No major incidents or injuries were reported.
The Shawano County Sheriff’s Office responded to a busy Sunday, logging 36 incidents across the county. Deputies handled multiple reckless driving complaints, including reports of vehicles speeding over 100 miles per hour on Highway 29 and Highway 45, and several cases involving erratic drivers swerving on the road.
A disturbance was reported at an apartment on Lake Drive in Shawano Sunday morning, with deputies called back later in the day for standby assistance to retrieve medication for a child.
Animal calls were also part of the day’s activity — one involving stray dogs running loose, and another about an injured deer believed to have been hit by a car in Marion.
In Pulaski, authorities investigated a possible weapon offense after gunshots were reported near Green Valley Road. Deputies also responded to a suspicious incident in Tigerton where a man reportedly approached someone while carrying a hatchet before leaving in a red Ford Ranger.
Other calls included several disabled vehicles, a noise complaint about a loud exhaust, welfare checks, and a warrant arrest.
No major injuries were reported in Sunday’s incidents, but the Sheriff’s Office is reminding drivers to slow down and stay alert, especially during summer travel.
