The Shawano Police Department responded to a variety of calls, ranging from medical assists to thefts and disturbances across the city.
The day began just after midnight with officers assisting medics at a home on South Sawyer Street. A 48-year-old man with cancer was found on the floor, unable to get up. He was treated on scene until 3 a.m.
A few hours later, police responded to an alarm at Performance Foods on County Trunk B. Officers confirmed the building was secure after checking the premises.
Around 8:30 a.m., officers were called to a disturbance on South Hamlin Street involving a heated argument between a man and woman. No injuries were reported, but an ambulance was later dispatched to the scene. Shortly after, another disturbance was reported on Waukechon Street and was reclassified as disorderly conduct.
In a theft case, a local resident on East Richmond Street reported both a leaf blower and four-wheeler stolen overnight. Police are investigating possible connections between the incidents.
A crash detection alert near South Main Street and Willow Lane triggered a brief emergency response, though no crash was confirmed.
Later in the day, officers investigated a suspicious person dumping bags outside Prevea Health on Green Bay Street and responded to a stolen black Chevy Silverado from South Sawyer Street. The owner met police at the nearby Hardee’s restaurant.
Other calls included a disabled vehicle at Richmond and Waukechon Streets, a child abuse investigation, a warrant attempt, and several 911 hang-ups.
Clintonville Police responded to several incidents including disorderly conduct, traffic issues, and 911 calls.
Officers handled two extra patrol checks throughout the day on Memorial Circle, one in the early afternoon and another later that night around 10 p.m.
Just after 10:30 a.m., police responded to a report of disorderly conduct on South Main Street. Details on the incident remain limited, but no arrests have been reported.
A traffic stop was conducted shortly after 1 p.m. at the intersection of 10th Street and South Main. Authorities have not released further details on the outcome.
Around 3:25 p.m., officers were dispatched to South Main Street following a 911 call. The nature of the call has not been disclosed.
The Shawano County Sheriff’s Office was busy Sunday, August 3rd, responding to nearly 50 incidents ranging from welfare checks and drug arrests to traffic hazards and reckless driving.
The day began just after midnight with a traffic stop on North Airport Drive that ended in an arrest for driving with a suspended or revoked license. A short time later, deputies were called to a home in Oconto Falls where a woman was reportedly being held against her will over a $100 debt. Authorities are investigating the case as a potential domestic welfare concern.
At 2:37 a.m., a report of intoxicated individuals attempting to drive from Coachlight Bar on Lake Drive led to an OWI arrest. Later that morning, another man turned himself in at the Shawano County Jail on a warrant.
Deputies also responded to two separate drug-related calls. One involved a suspected meth-related incident at a business in Cecil. The second occurred on South Main Street, where witnesses reported a possible drug exchange involving two women on bicycles.
Traffic and driving-related incidents made up a large part of the day’s activity. Authorities addressed multiple reckless driving complaints, several 911 hang-ups, and multiple minor crashes with no serious injuries.
Elsewhere, officers assisted with a house fire on Campground Road, domestic disputes on Lake Drive and Vinal Street, and a suspicious vehicle parked outside a Shawano residence.
