BLACK CREEK, WI- The village of Black Creek officially bid farewell to its police department on Thursday, marking the end of an era. Beginning Friday, law enforcement duties will shift to the Outagamie County Sheriff’s Office, with one full-time patrol deputy assigned to the village. The transition was approved during a special village board meeting on June 3, passing by a 5-1 vote. In a farewell message on Facebook, the department thanked residents for their support and reflected on years of dedicated service from officers who often moved on to larger agencies. Former Police Chief Lowell James, who retired in April after 32 years of service, was part of that legacy. The change signals a new chapter in public safety for Black Creek.
