SHAWANO, WI – A group of generous women in Shawano County is on the verge of reaching a major milestone in charitable giving. 100 Women Who Care, a local organization dedicated to supporting individuals and families in need, is expected to surpass $300,000 in total contributions at its upcoming meeting on August 6th at 5:30 p.m. at Stubborn Brothers Brewery.
“The big thing is that all of the donations stay local,” said Jeannie Otto, a member of the group. “And we are just absolutely thrilled that we’re going to surpass $300,000 that we have, we, meaning the 100 women, have contributed to nonprofits in our area.”
Founded on a simple but powerful model, the group brings together more than 100 women for one hour of giving, pooling donations to make a significant impact. “100 Women Who Care is a giving group of women. A 100 women plus one hour plus money, and we make a local impact,” Otto explained.
The organization meets quarterly to vote on local nonprofits to support, focusing on Shawano County communities. Otto says their powerful process is creating real, meaningful change for those facing challenges.
