The Shawano Police Department responded to a series of diverse incidents Tuesday, keeping officers busy across the city.
It all began shortly after midnight with a 911 SOS alert from a resident on East Randall Street. The caller accidentally triggered the alarm but confirmed no emergency, and officers closed the case.
Just minutes later, a welfare check turned serious when officers found a man lying on the ground outside the police department. That individual was connected to an open misdemeanor case and was taken into custody.
Around 2:30 a.m., a suspicious activity call on South Lincoln Street led officers to investigate a report from a concerned resident, though no threat was found.
At Lakeshore Lanes, a caller initially asked police to help push her vehicle home, then changed her request to simply speak with an officer. Officers made contact and resolved the situation without incident.
Later in the morning, officers were called to Bay Lakes Road for an open door report—thankfully, all was secure. Another welfare check at the police lobby involved a woman in distress, prompting a request for crisis response.
A reported hit-and-run and a theft of an ice auger also remain under active investigation, while officers responded to two animal complaints—including a dog left in a hot vehicle outside Aldi.
A troubling child abuse report at the Shawano Ski Sharks site led to multiple officers responding. Witnesses claimed a mother was seen dragging a small child through water—investigation is ongoing.
The day wrapped up with reports of underage drinking at Sharonas Bar, a disturbance on Smalley Street, and a case of bail jumping at an apartment on Sawyer Street.
Clintonville Police responded to a variety of calls Tuesday, ranging from routine patrols to serious incidents.
Officers conducted multiple overnight business checks across Commercial, Industrial, and Main Streets, and provided extra patrols in areas like Picnic Point, 15th Street, and Pickerel Point Playground to ensure public safety.
A pair of domestic incidents—one on Hughes Street in the late morning and another on Brix Street in the evening—prompted police intervention.
Throughout the day, traffic enforcement was active with several stops on Main Street and surrounding intersections. One disabled vehicle was reported near 7th and Beacon, and mutual aid was provided along Highway 22.
Police also investigated a theft on East 14th Street and responded to a property damage report on Brix Street.
Other calls included welfare checks, lost-and-found property, and community engagement efforts on South Main. An ambulance was dispatched to Industrial Avenue late in the evening.
Shawano County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to 43 incidents across the county, including several welfare checks, traffic hazards, theft reports, and calls for assistance. Here are the highlights:
Just after midnight, a caller reported a man sitting shirtless by the roadside near Highway 47 and Old Lake Road. The individual appeared to be disoriented and possibly under the influence. Deputies checked on the man and closed the case.
In another welfare check around 7:30 a.m., officers responded to reports of a man climbing over a highway overpass on County Road K. No injuries were reported.
Later that morning, a domestic disturbance near Lake Drive drew attention when a woman was seen being pushed into a vehicle. She later locked herself in a public restroom. Authorities made contact and determined the situation had de-escalated.
Also of note, a property damage report came in just before 6 a.m. in the town of Washington. An autistic child reportedly moved his mother’s vehicle during the night, accidentally damaging a neighbor’s yard display.
Other calls included 911 hang-ups, suspicious vehicles, and identity theft, with one woman in Krakow stopping scammers from opening fraudulent accounts in her name.
Two warrants were also served Tuesday, one involving a transfer from Menominee Tribal Jail.
Meanwhile, the Stockbridge-Munsee Police Department handled two calls—one for a suspicious vehicle and another for trespassing in Gresham.
