SHAWANO, WI – Renovation and improvement projects are in full swing across the Shawano School District, with updates shared during Monday night’s school board meeting.
Superintendent Kurt Krizan provided an overview of ongoing work at several school sites, including major activity at Olga Brenner Elementary, where extensive site work is underway, particularly around the North parking lot. At Hillcrest Primary, crews are working on lighting upgrades and cleaning classrooms, while Shawano Middle School is nearing completion on roofing improvements, including final flashing installations.
One of the more significant updates involves planned utility work at the high school, which could impact the Shawano Hawks’ soccer schedule. According to Operations Committee member John Arens, pipeline work is scheduled to begin August 18, and a proposal has been made to move both fall and spring soccer matches to Olga Brenner. The high school administration has been notified of the potential shift.
While renovations at Olga Brenner, Hillcrest, and the middle school are expected to wrap up before the start of the new school year, high school projects such as reworking the football field grass will begin this fall and continue through next summer.
