It was a busy Tuesday for Shawano Police, with officers responding to a wide range of calls across the city.
Just after midnight, a traffic stop at Green Bay Street and Lakeland Road led to an arrest. Officers say the driver was taken into custody and transported to jail.
Around 1 a.m., a suspicious red Cadillac was reported circling the Kwik Trip on East Green Bay Street. Police responded but the vehicle had already left the area heading eastbound.
Later that morning, a repossession was reported on South Washington Street, where a Hyundai Elantra was towed without the owner’s knowledge.
In the afternoon, officers investigated a disturbing report downtown where a man allegedly chased a woman and tried opening her car doors in the Stock Market parking lot. The suspect fled the scene.
Around the same time, a bike theft was reported on South Franklin Street. Witnesses described the suspect as a teenage male wearing a sun hat and pajama pants, seen walking with the red bicycle near a lemonade stand.
By evening, officers were called to a disturbance on South Andrews Street. Several units and an ambulance responded, though details remain limited.
And finally, just before midnight, police checked on three individuals spotted at Kuckuk Park after hours. The anonymous caller reported one female and two males loitering near a vehicle.
Clintonville Police Officers conducted a series of routine business checks across the city overnight, with at least nine different locations inspected including areas along Main Street and 12th Street. These proactive efforts are part of ongoing patrols aimed at preventing break-ins and ensuring local businesses are secure after hours.
Authorities responded to multiple traffic-related incidents, including two traffic hazards and a pair of traffic stops, as well as one report of general traffic issues. While no serious accidents were listed, police remained vigilant in monitoring road safety throughout the day.
A report of child abuse was also documented. Details remain limited, but the case is under active investigation. Meanwhile, officers assisted in one ambulance call and responded to a 911 emergency, though specific outcomes were not immediately available.
An animal problem and a request for mutual aid rounded out the day’s calls, alongside a couple of extra patrols in neighborhoods where residents may have raised concerns.
Shawano County Sheriff’s Deputies say it was a busy day for deputies, with 32 total incidents logged. Among the more serious calls—multiple warrants were served, with at least four individuals taken into custody throughout Shawano, including one person who turned themselves in at the county jail.
In Birnamwood, a suspicious activity call came in just before 2 a.m. from a resident on Elm Street. Deputies responded and closed the case after an investigation.
Meanwhile in Richmond Township, someone made off with a neighborhood watch sign—a theft now under investigation.
A potential burglary alarm went off around 5 a.m. at Central Wisconsin Cooperative in Grand Avenue, though deputies were unable to make contact with keyholders.
In a troubling case, officers conducted a welfare check at a bar on Cedar Court after reports of a confused elderly man who claimed he’d just been released from prison and told to hide in the woods. Authorities are still looking into the situation.
Deputies were also called to Wittenberg twice in the evening—once for a suspicious person and again for a suspicious vehicle, both of which were resolved without further action.
And finally, a purse snatching at the North Star Casino in Bowler is under investigation. The suspect reportedly fled the scene in a green Ford sedan. The Stockbridge-Munsee Police are handling that case.
