SHAWANO COUNTY, WI- The Shawano County Sheriff’s Office has released a digitally generated image of a wanted man they say may have drastically changed his appearance.
Authorities are still trying to track down 37-year-old Michael J. Thorson, who remains on the run with a felony probation warrant and is tied to several recent burglaries and vehicle thefts across Shawano and Marathon counties. He’s considered armed and dangerous.
Investigators now believe Thorson may have shaved his head and face, prompting the release of an AI-generated photo to help the public better identify him.
The latest tip placed Thorson near Wilson Lake Park outside Wittenberg. He may be traveling in a silver Pontiac Grand Prix from the late 2000s, although the connection hasn’t been confirmed. A separate vehicle linked to him was recovered Sunday near the Stockbridge-Munsee area, but Thorson escaped before officers arrived.
Deputies stress that timing is everything. Delays in reporting tips have made the search more difficult, and they’re urging the public to call immediately if they spot anything suspicious.
If you have any information on Thorson’s whereabouts, contact the Shawano County Sheriff’s Office at (715) 526-3111 or reach out to your local authorities.
