Here’s a look at yesterday’s top police activity, according to the Shawano Police Department.
A call about reckless driving on Highway 29 early Monday morning prompted a swift response from multiple officers. The incident occurred near Exit 227 just after 5:30 a.m. Authorities quickly located the vehicle, but no further details on citations or arrests have been released.
Later that morning, a warrant attempt at a home on South Park Street led officers from Shawano PD and Probation & Parole to the location. Three units were dispatched, but the outcome of the attempt remains active and under investigation.
A welfare check at the Kwik Trip on East Green Bay Street raised safety concerns after a woman was seen walking into traffic. Officers arrived within minutes and spoke with the individual, who was unharmed.
Around 2 p.m., a disturbance was reported at Taco Bell. Three officers responded to calm tensions, though specifics of the altercation were not released. Just minutes later, police investigated a hit and run outside ThedaCare Medical Center involving a red minivan that left the scene. The damaged vehicle remained in the lot for inspection.
And finally, in a troubling moment late Monday night, officers were called to Memorial Park for a report of a fight between a juvenile and an adult. The investigation is ongoing.
Clintonville Police were busy through the early morning hours of Sunday, July 21st, with a flurry of routine checks and public service calls keeping officers on their toes.
Between midnight and dawn, police conducted seven business checks along South Main Street, ensuring local establishments were secure after hours. That same number — seven — also applies to traffic stops logged during the same timeframe, highlighting continued vigilance on the roads.
Officers also maintained a visible presence with four extra patrols, including one near a local school — part of ongoing efforts to bolster community safety.
Among the more unique calls, police assisted with a stray animal situation and responded to a citizen lockout, a reminder that even minor mishaps don’t go unnoticed in this close-knit community.
One call involved coordination with medical services for an ambulance response, while another required officers to deliver a message — showing the wide range of responsibilities handled by local law enforcement.
A 911 call and a request for mutual aid also came through, though no serious incidents were reported during the period.
It was a busy Monday for Shawano County deputies, with over 40 incidents logged on July 21st.
The day started early with a reckless driving report just after 5:00 AM near Highway 29 and Exit 227. Deputies responded to multiple reckless driving calls throughout the day, including incidents on Highways 52 and 29 — one involving a black Mustang without license plates.
Shortly after 7:00 AM, a disturbance was reported on Camp 14 Road in Bowler. Deputies say the incident stemmed from an intoxicated individual causing problems after a long night of drinking.
Later in Shawano, a concerned resident reported hearing alarming yelling from a nearby trailer, including threats to sic a dog on someone. Deputies are investigating that report as a possible domestic disturbance.
Also raising flags — suspicious activity was noted throughout the county. One caller spotted a man staggering around Nightingale Road for hours, while another reported an unknown man captured on security footage entering a property in Bowler and never seen exiting.
Among the more serious calls — a welfare check in Clintonville revealed troubling texts from a man threatening to harm himself and his dog. Deputies are continuing to follow up.
Elsewhere, one woman was picked up on a warrant after turning herself in at the sheriff’s office. Her mother warned she might flee.
And in Tigerton, a husband reported his wife missing after coming home to an empty house and an unlocked door — her car and phone both gone.
