SHIOCTON, WI – The School District of Shiocton is proud to welcome Garrett Zimmerman as its new District Administrator, bringing a wealth of experience and a strong passion for student-centered leadership.
Zimmerman, who officially stepped into the role this summer, says he’s already felt the warmth and spirit of the Shiocton community.
Originally from the small town of Hillsboro, Wisconsin, Zimmerman grew up with a deep appreciation for community-focused education. His career began in La Crosse, where he taught and later served as principal of an alternative middle/high school. He then moved to the Fox Valley to be closer to family and most recently served as elementary principal at Alliance Charter School in the Neenah Joint School District.
Zimmerman holds a Bachelor’s degree in Secondary Social Studies Education and a Master’s in Educational Leadership from UW-La Crosse, as well as a Superintendent license from UW-Milwaukee. He is currently pursuing a PhD in Educational Leadership and Policy Analysis at UW-Madison.
With a clear passion for creating inclusive and thriving learning environments, Zimmerman says he looks forward to building strong relationships with students, families, staff, and community members in the months ahead.
