CECIL, WI – After a decade of golden fields and family fun, Bergsbaken Farms is preparing to host its final Sunflower Festival next weekend, July 25–27, in Cecil.
Dale Bergsbaken, co-owner of the farm, says it feels like the right time to bring the beloved tradition to a close.
“We were always shooting for ten years, and being this is our tenth year, yeah, it feels ready to go out,” Bergsbaken shared.
The event, known for its vibrant sunflower fields, wagon rides, kids’ activities, local vendors, and photo opportunities, has become a staple of the summer season in Shawano County. But while the festival may be ending, the star attraction is still in full bloom.
Thanks to the recent stretch of heat, Bergsbaken says the flowers are right on schedule. “They like warmth. They like hot, and it pushed them through,” he said. “They’re gonna come.”
This year’s festival promises one last chance for the community to gather among the blooms, take photos, and soak up the summer sunshine. Whether you’re a returning guest or a first-time visitor, the Bergsbaken family is encouraging everyone to stop by and help celebrate ten years of memories.
The festival runs rain or shine, Thursday through Saturday, July 25th to 27th, at Bergsbaken Farms in Cecil.
