It was a busy Tuesday night for Shawano police, who responded to a wide range of incidents across the city — from trespassing and medical calls to suspected criminal behavior.
Officers were dispatched to a trespassing complaint on South Bartlett Street. Multiple officers responded just after 1:15 a.m. The incident was quickly resolved and resulted in an arrest.
Just an hour later, police investigated suspicious activity on Fairview Way, where residents reported strangers knocking on doors and windows. Officers found footprints leading away from the scene. The investigation is ongoing.
At the county jail, officers and EMS were called around 5:30 a.m. to assist with an inmate reportedly intentionally falling and hitting their head on the floor. The individual received medical attention.
Later in the morning, a 53-year-old man on South Main Street was treated for a serious arm injury after reportedly cutting himself. Officers assisted paramedics on the scene.
The day also saw reports of a restraining order violation, a verbal domestic disturbance, and an intoxicated woman harassing children near Memorial Park.
Police responded to a hit-and-run at Smalley and 5th Street around 7 p.m., where a suspect in a gray truck fled the scene after backing into a parked car. Officers have a possible license plate number.
And just before midnight, officers were back on Picnic Street for another medical emergency, assisting an individual in need of urgent care.
Clintonville Police Officers responded to a total of 20 calls throughout the day. Among the reports were two incidents involving suspicious persons—one just after midnight at 9th and Hemlock, and another in the evening near 7th and North Lyons.
Several traffic stops were conducted, including on South Main, North Grand, and 15th and Lincoln. Officers also responded to a probation violation on Modoc Street and assisted in mutual aid calls on Lambie Road and later near Highway 22 and County Highway Double-D.
A lost item was reported at Paulina and Auto Streets early in the morning, and a harassment complaint came in from Modoc Street that night. Emergency services responded to a 911 call on Harriet Street and an ambulance call on West Street.
Animal control was dispatched for a problem on Garfield Avenue, and extra patrols were conducted on East 12th and Memorial Circle.
Shawano County deputies responded to a total of 32 incidents, including several traffic crashes and a death investigation.
Early Tuesday morning, a vehicle struck a deer on Highway 29 near County Road U. The driver, initially tried to drive home but had to pull over when his car became disabled.
Just after 3 a.m., another accident occurred on Highway 29 and County Road T when a vehicle ended up in a ditch. Two men were found trying to change a tire at the scene.
Later in the day, a mailbox explosion was reported on Center Street in Krakow. According to deputies, only one of three mailboxes at the residence was damaged. That case remains active.
In a separate call, a welfare check was requested for 94-year-old man after family members hadn’t heard from him, citing concerns due to his chronic heart condition. That investigation is ongoing.
The Sheriff’s Office is also looking into a threatening voicemail from an unknown caller in Florida that included a death threat.
And in Pulaski, a death investigation was launched Tuesday night after authorities responded to a call. No further details have been released at this time.
The Stockbridge-Munsee Police Department responded to six incidents, including a suspicious call from a resident who reported someone entered his apartment and took his cat.
