SHAWANO, WI- The Shawano Police Department has launched an investigation into the death of a 2-year-old child that occurred within the city on Saturday, July 5, 2025.
Officials say the death is being treated as suspicious, which is standard procedure in cases involving young children. In a statement, the department emphasized its commitment to conducting a thorough and careful investigation to ensure all concerns are addressed and the circumstances are fully understood.
“It is the policy of the Shawano Police Department to thoroughly investigate any death involving a child to ensure all concerns are fully addressed and the facts are clearly understood,” the statement read.
