SHAWANO, WI – The Shawano-Menominee Counties Health Department (SMCHD) is taking a proactive approach to community health by launching a new effort to showcase local resources and programs that support public well-being.
“Here at SMCHD, our mission is to promote and protect the health of Shawano and Menominee County residents by providing quality services, fostering partnerships, and advocating for systems change,” Health Officer Nick Mau said.
As part of that mission, the department plans to highlight community assets, from local organizations to health programs, and show how they contribute to overall public health. The goal is to educate residents on the many ways their community supports healthy living and how the health department enhances or complements those efforts.
By focusing on collaboration and awareness, SMCHD hopes to strengthen its connection with the public and promote a healthier, more informed community.
