Shawano Police had a busy day on Monday July 7th, responding to over two dozen calls ranging from disturbances to reckless driving.
Early Monday morning, officers moved a pedestrian crossing sign left in the road on East Green Bay Street, ensuring safety near the Wisconsin House.
Just before 8 a.m., police assisted a resident on Picnic Street, and later in the morning, responded to a stray chocolate lab seen running westbound near First Street.
At Birch Hill Care Center, two elderly residents got into an altercation—no injuries were reported and no charges filed.
Police also handled a two-car crash near Ellis and East Green Bay Streets. One person was arrested.
A domestic disturbance call came in just before 11 a.m. on Prospect Circle, and a non-reportable car accident occurred soon after on South Franklin.
Later in the day, a complaint at Memorial Park led to a drug investigation involving a man recently released from Bellin Psychiatric.
There were multiple reports of suspicious individuals and reckless drivers. Officers were called to check on a possibly intoxicated woman on South Park Street and a swerving SUV near Highway 22 and 29.
The evening saw a pickup on a warrant, a disturbance involving a girlfriend refusing to leave, and extra patrols requested by a concerned mother on South Union Street.
Finally, officers responded to park violations after hours at Sturgeon Park and made a field contact in a parking lot near South Sawyer.
Clintonville Police Reported Officers stayed active throughout the day, starting just after midnight with business checks along Commercial Avenue and South Main Street.
An early morning traffic stop was conducted at South Main and County Highway I. Later, emergency medical crews were called to Spring Street and North Main for separate ambulance runs.
Police investigated a harassment complaint on South Main around 6:45 a.m., followed by disorderly conduct on East Madison shortly after 9.
A warrant arrest was made on Waupaca Street just after noon, and a drug-related investigation began around 4 p.m. on South Clinton Avenue. Later that evening, officers also responded to a theft and an animal bite — both in the same area.
Multiple traffic stops were conducted throughout the day, including at Highway 45, Memorial Circle, and North Main Street. Extra patrols were also requested on East 12th, Memorial Circle, and later that night at 10 p.m.
Wrapping up the day, a third ambulance call came in just before 11 p.m. on West Green Tree Road.
Shawano County Deputies were kept busy with a variety of calls across the county. The day began around 2:30 a.m. with a 911 hang-up call on Two Mile Road in Tigerton, followed minutes later by a vehicle found sideways in a ditch near Highway 29 in the Town of Buchanan. Another car was found in the ditch near Laney just after 5 a.m., with the driver still inside.
Animal calls were frequent throughout the day. Deputies responded to multiple loose livestock complaints, including three cows spotted near Highway 156 in Pulaski, a stray calf near Lime Kiln Road, and up to 15 cows blocking traffic on South Schmidt Road. In another case, a driver hit a deer near Highway 47 and County Road A—thankfully, no injuries were reported.
Officers assisted with a dementia-related call in Shawano, where an elderly man refused to return to his nursing home. There was also a civil dispute in Wittenberg over property access, and several suspicious activity reports, including one involving a man offering a bottle of dish soap in a stranger’s driveway.
Criminal mischief was reported on North Airport Drive, where a resident said someone smeared animal feces on her door. Meanwhile, a reckless driver was spotted swerving on Highway 22, and deputies investigated multiple disabled vehicles throughout the county.
And in a more unusual incident, an injured kitten was found on the third level of the North Star Casino parking ramp in Bowler.
