TOWN OF ELLINGTON, WI- A head-on collision Saturday just before noon in the Town of Ellington sent three people to the hospital, including one man with life-threatening injuries.
According to the Outagamie County Sheriff’s Office, the crash happened near the intersection of Rexford Road and Center Valley Road. Preliminary findings indicate that a pickup truck turning north onto Rexford Road from Center Valley Road was struck head-on by another pickup traveling southbound.
The southbound truck was driven by an 84-year-old man from Shiocton, who sustained life-threatening injuries. He was airlifted by ThedaStar to a local hospital.
The northbound pickup, driven by a 68-year-old Hortonville man, carried two passengers, a 59-year-old man from Appleton and an 11-year-old from western Wisconsin. The driver and adult passenger were transported by ambulance with non-life-threatening injuries. The child was evaluated at the scene and released.
Authorities say alcohol does not appear to be a factor in the crash, which remains under investigation.
