It was a busy Monday for Shawano police, with officers responding to over two dozen calls ranging from disturbances to medical emergencies.
Shortly after midnight, officers were dispatched to East 5th and North Union Streets for a disorderly conduct call. An anonymous complainant reported individuals refusing to leave and using profanity. Multiple units responded, and the situation was resolved with no arrests reported.
Just minutes later, a female suspect with an outstanding warrant was picked up near East Richmond and Waukechon.
Later in the morning, an unusual call came in from a resident who spotted a large gift box by the mailbox at Presbyterian and South Washington Streets. Officers responded, but no threat was found.
Elsewhere, officers responded to a non-injury car crash, a traffic hazard involving debris from a smashed lawn chair, and a possible theft of a camper reported on East Green Bay Street.
In the afternoon, EMS and police responded to Popp’s Diner, where a man reported seizures while sitting in his car.
Later, two separate disturbances were reported — one on West Division Street and another on South Bartlett. Both are under investigation.
And in one of the more bizarre incidents of the day, a German Shepherd attacked another dog during a walk near South Evergreen. The owner reportedly claimed her dog could “jump six-foot fences” before retreating to her residence.
It was a steady day of patrols and response calls for Clintonville police. Officers began their shift with extra patrol on East 12th Street and parking enforcement at 11th and Memorial Circle.
Several traffic stops occurred throughout the day, including hot spots at South Main, Highway 156, and 7th and Pershing.
Police also assisted with multiple medical calls, including ambulance responses on North Park, Wilson, South Madison, and North 12th Streets.
Just before 11 a.m., officers responded to a disabled vehicle on Highway 45, and later that evening, they were called to retrieve a stray animal on Spring Street.
Later, a theft was reported on Wilson Street around 10:45 p.m., and two 911 calls—one on East 12th and another on Industrial Avenue—were investigated.
The night wrapped with mutual aid provided to a neighboring jurisdiction on Madison Road.
Shawano County deputies responded to a total of 47 incidents across the region, with a mix of welfare checks, traffic hazards, and criminal complaints.
An OWI arrest was made early Monday morning in the Town of Birnamwood, after a woman reportedly flipped her car into a river and knocked on a nearby resident’s door for help. Authorities say she appeared uninjured but was arrested on suspicion of operating while intoxicated.
A separate welfare check on W Green Bay Street in Shawano remains active, as a mother reported not hearing from her children in days.
In animal-related calls, a concerning case of neglect was reported near Oconto Falls, where one horse was found buried and others appeared sick or underfed. Another call later that afternoon reported a cow chained to the ground with no shelter or water near Leopolis Road.
Deputies also responded to a fraud complaint involving a check altered from $60 to $3,000 And in a lighter but still serious incident, a shoplifting complaint in Krakow revealed a suspect allegedly stashing items down his pants—valued at just three dollars.
Stockbridge-Munsee Police assisted with five calls, including criminal damage in Gresham and harassment in Bowler.
And finally, two warrants were served, including one involving a suspect voluntarily turning themselves in to the county jail.
