It was a busy Sunday for Shawano police, responding to a variety of incidents across the city.
The day started just after midnight at Sturgeon Park, where two vehicles were found after hours. Officers issued a curfew violation to a 27-year-old male for being at the park past legal hours.
Shortly after 1 a.m., police responded to a domestic disturbance on South Park Street, triggered by a 911 call with no answer. Multiple officers were on scene for nearly two hours to resolve the situation.
Around 3:40 a.m., police were dispatched to North Main Street, where a man was found lying on the sidewalk shirtless and unresponsive. Officers conducted a welfare check and cleared the scene safely.
Later that morning, a silent panic alarm at Cellcom on North Main prompted a swift response from officers, but it was determined to be a false alarm.
Traffic safety was also a focus, with multiple reports of reckless driving. One involved a black Mazda that allegedly forced cars off the road on Airport Drive. Another reckless driver was spotted outside Walmart around 1 p.m., and a third near South Lafayette later that night.
Officers also handled a disturbance on Mountain Bay Trail where a woman was reportedly damaging the interior of a red Dodge Charger, and a criminal damage report came in from Estates Lane after a caller’s tires were slashed.
In retail crime, Walmart security detained a woman on parole for shoplifting—a condition of which prohibited her from being at the store.
Additional calls included animal noise complaints, abandoned vehicles, and several assist/standby calls linked to personal disputes and welfare checks.
Clintonville Police maintained a strong presence across the area, starting overnight with extra patrols and a series of business checks on South Main Street around 3 a.m. Officers were also dispatched to E. 12th and Anne Street for a report of intoxication just before 3:30.
Later in the morning, several traffic stops were made along Highway 45, Hemlock Street, and County Highway I. Around 10 a.m., officers responded to a disorderly conduct complaint on South Main.
Animal-related calls continued through the day, including reports of a stray dog, animal neglect, and an ongoing problem on Ilo Street.
Afternoon activity included a utility issue near Flora Way and East 3rd Street, and mutual aid was provided at Highway 45 and Willow Road.
Officers also handled ordinance violations on Coleus Court, a civil complaint, and continued extra patrols through the night.
Shawano County Sheriff’s reported it was a busy Sunday for law enforcement across Shawano County, with over two dozen incidents reported throughout the day.
Just after 2 a.m., deputies responded to a personal injury crash at the intersection of County Trunk D and Stony Hill Road. Details remain limited, but dispatch reports show the caller disconnected shortly after the crash was reported.
Later in the morning, a shoplifting incident in Krakow led deputies to a suspect. The alleged theft of alcohol was caught on camera, and the suspect reportedly walked away toward a nearby residence.
Meanwhile, flooding caused multiple road hazards, including a road closure near County Trunk S and Sunny Lane in Pulaski, and reports of water washing over Deer Drive in the afternoon.
Animal-related calls also kept officers on alert. Around 5 a.m., two stray horses were reported loose on Town Line Road near Highway 32. Later in Tigerton, a child was bitten by a neighbor’s dog, breaking the skin. That case remains under investigation.
Welfare checks were frequent as well, with one involving an elderly man in Bowler who had a severe allergic reaction to a bee sting, prompting a medical response.
And finally, just before 10:30 p.m., officers were called to the Ho-Chunk Casino, where staff requested help escorting an intoxicated guest who had no ride and didn’t remember where he lived.
