MAPLE CREEK, WI – Two people were hospitalized with serious injuries after an SUV crashed into a tree Tuesday evening in the town of Maple Creek. The crash occurred around 5 p.m. on County Trunk D near County Trunk K.
According to investigators, the SUV was heading south when it left the roadway and struck a tree. The driver, a 49-year-old man from Bear Creek, was airlifted to a local hospital. A 50-year-old female passenger, also from Bear Creek, was transported by ambulance with serious injuries.
Authorities believe speed and alcohol were contributing factors in the crash, which remains under investigation.
