The Shawano Police Department had a busy day on Tuesday, responding to a variety of incidents across the city.
Around 11:30 a.m., officers responded to reports of a sick or possibly neglected animal near South Evergreen Street and East Zingler Avenue. Two officers were dispatched to the scene and remained there for nearly 30 minutes.
Later that morning, police responded to a suspected drug-related offense and the case remains active.
At approximately 1:30 p.m., police arrested a woman at the Shawano Probation and Parole office. The subject, was taken into custody without incident and transported to jail.
Throughout the afternoon, officers were also called for multiple welfare checks, including one where a man reportedly left a medical facility and made suicidal threats. He was located safely.
Police were also involved in a domestic disturbance at the Walmart on East Green Bay Street just before 10 p.m. A woman was reportedly assaulted and required medical attention, though she initially declined an ambulance. Multiple officers and an EMS unit responded.
And finally, police handled several civil disputes, vehicle lockouts, and a late-night alarm call at Shawano OGA Brenner on South Union Street just after 1 a.m. Wednesday morning.
Clintonville Police Reported Officers maintained a strong presence throughout the city with several early-morning business checks along Commercial Avenue, Main Street, and Green Tree Road, along with extra patrols near Pigeon Lake, Rohrer Street, and South Park Street.
Midday saw a medical call on Robert Street, followed by a fire alarm and a separate building alarm, both along South Main. Officers also responded to an illegal burn on 5th Street and assisted another agency on Maize Street.
Later in the evening, police increased their visibility with multiple traffic stops, especially near Main Street, Highway 49, and County Highway C. A lockout was reported on Glendale Court, and a utility issue near South Main and West Madison required officer attention.
The day ended with a report of disorderly conduct just before 10 p.m. on South Main Street.
Deputies were busy throughout the day responding to a wide range of calls. The day started with a lift assist in Caroline, where a resident with mobility issues requested help. A suspicious vehicle was spotted overnight in the median of Highway 29, prompting an early-morning check.
In Birnamwood, a single-vehicle crash with injuries occurred just before 6 a.m. on County Road Z, and authorities responded to a civil dispute in Shawano involving a neighbor allegedly tampering with property boundaries.
Throughout the day, there were multiple reckless driving complaints, one involving a motorcyclist speeding and performing stunts, and another just before midnight on Highway 117, possibly involving an intoxicated driver. Two stray pit bulls caused concern on East Street in Shawano, with one report stating the dog had a history of biting.
Officers also responded to two warrant pickups, a welfare check involving threats of self-harm, and a disturbance at a Burger King in Bonduel, where a customer refused to leave.
Other calls included traffic hazards involving a live deer on Highway 29, a suspicious person, and disorderly conduct at the Shawano County Jail, stemming from an inmate altercation earlier in the day.
Finally, the Stockbridge-Munsee Police Department assisted with a vehicle lockout on Moh He Con Nuck Road.
