EMBARRASS, WI – Out of more than 220 VFW posts in Wisconsin, only one firefighter was selected for the prestigious title of VFW State Firefighter of the Year, and that honor has gone to Embarrass Fire Department’s own Jeffrey J. Maynard.
Maynard was nominated by Tina Flanagan of VFW Post 664, who felt his decades of service and dedication stood out among the best in the state.
With over 30 years of experience in firefighting, Maynard has played a vital role in emergency response and public safety in his community. His commitment and leadership were key factors in earning him this high recognition.
“If you know anyone from the Embarrass Fire Department, please congratulate him,” Flanagan added. “It’s a big deal for our small department, and he’s truly earned it.”
