Just after 1:30 a.m., officers responded to a welfare check near the courthouse where a man was found lying on the sidewalk with a bicycle. Four officers and EMS arrived to assist; the situation was resolved without further incident.
Around 2 a.m., a call initially thought to be an accidental 911 dial escalated into a domestic disturbance on Estates Lane. Officers made contact with a suspect, resulting in an arrest.
At 10 a.m., a 911 call from an elevator at Cornerstone Chiropractic prompted a quick response. Officials later confirmed it was a phone system test by maintenance.
At 10:37 a.m., officers assisted Probation and Parole with the arrest of male individual. He was taken into custody without resistance.
In the afternoon, officers responded to multiple juvenile complaints. One involved teens doing wheelies on a four-wheeler near Union Street, another at Memorial Park reported underage girls vaping, and later that night, teens were suspected of using marijuana at Sturgeon Park.
Other notable incidents included a scam complaint where a resident reported losing $200 in an online purchase, and a traffic hazard involving a deer sitting on the roadway.
Finally, at nearly 10 p.m., fireworks near Smalley and Richmond knocked out power temporarily. Officers identified a suspect at the scene.
Clintonville Police maintained a visible presence throughout the city on Monday, conducting over a dozen business checks in the early morning hours, primarily along South and North Main Streets, as well as 10th Street.
Officers also initiated multiple traffic stops across the day, particularly concentrated around North 12th Street. In addition to traffic enforcement, police responded to three ambulance calls—on Club House Drive, 16th Street, and 9th Street—along with a reported animal problem on Flora Way and a stray animal on South Main.
The department assisted the Waupaca County Sheriff’s Office on Coleus Court, responded to a family issue on Pershing Street, and handled a suspicious activity report on Auto Street late Monday night.
Officers also performed extra patrols in several neighborhoods, including Rohrer Street, Memorial Circle, and Elm Street, and responded to a 911 call and traffic hazard near Rohrer and Mill.
It was a busy day for the Shawano County Sheriff’s Office, responding to 37 incidents across the region.
The day began early with a welfare check around 1:30 a.m. near the courthouse in Shawano. A man was found lying on the sidewalk with a bicycle nearby. He was checked on by deputies and the situation was resolved without incident.
Later that morning, a suspicious person was reported zigzagging into traffic near Nabor Road in Cecil. Deputies made contact but found no ongoing threat.
At 8:53 a.m., a vehicle theft was reported in Gresham. The owner claimed the car was taken overnight without permission. That investigation remains active.
Reckless driving was a recurring theme, with at least three calls reporting dangerous behavior on Highway 22 and Highway 29. One caller described two tan cars “racing and flying” near the Shawano city limits.
Deputies also made multiple warrant arrests, including one at 311 North Main Street around 6:40 a.m., and two others by mid-morning in Shawano and Wittenberg.
In Pulaski, one man reported repeated vandalism to his crops, claiming a family member had been driving through his fields, damaging his land after prior warnings.
And finally, a bit of the bizarre – deputies responded to a disturbance involving cheese. Yes, cheese. A man reported someone in an older green pickup throwing cheese slices all over his property on Frailing Road.
