Shawano Police Reported A late-night disturbance on South Lincoln Street rattled residents just after 2 a.m. Sunday. Police responded to reports of a man screaming and pounding on a door. Officers were on scene within minutes, and the situation was handled without arrest.
Just an hour later, another disturbance was reported at the AmeriVu Inn & Suites on Waukechon Street. Witnesses say a couple was arguing in the parking lot and backed into a nearby truck. Multiple officers responded, but no injuries were reported.
In other calls — animal control was called to Stubborn Brothers Brewery after two aggressive dogs were seen heading toward City Hall. Officers were able to safely clear the area.
There were also two parking complaints, a drug call outside the VFW where no suspicious activity was confirmed, and a theft report involving a missing bike later spotted in a neighbor’s garage.
Police were also called for a canine search after someone reported a car possibly dumping drugs or a weapon on Lake Drive. That vehicle fled west toward Highway 47.
And finally, early this morning, officers conducted a welfare check on a man found lying near the courthouse with a bike. EMS was called to assist.
Clintonville Police Officers conducted multiple business checks early Sunday morning, with over nine stops along South Main Street and one on North Main — part of routine overnight patrols to ensure everything remained secure.
Extra patrols were logged across the city — including Rohrer Street, Elm Street, Clinton Avenue, 16th Street, and Memorial Circle — a continued effort to maintain a strong community presence.
Tragically, officers responded to a death investigation just after 11 a.m. on Garfield Avenue. No further details have been released.
Other calls included a minor vehicle crash on South Main, an animal nuisance on North Main, and a domestic disturbance around 8:30 p.m. on North 12th Street.
Three traffic stops were made on 12th Street throughout the evening, and officers assisted with a medical call on Industrial Avenue just before 7:30 p.m.
Clintonville PD also logged a foot patrol on West 13th and kept an eye on local neighborhoods late into the night.
Shawano County Sheriff’s Department reported It was a full day of varied incidents across the county, beginning just after 2 a.m. with a deer-related traffic crash on Highway 22 near Belle Plaine. Fortunately, no injuries were reported.
Deputies responded to several 911 calls throughout the day — including abandoned or hang-up calls in Wittenberg, Gresham, and Shawano — all of which were cleared without incident.
In Bonduel, a woman fell and required medical assistance. Her husband called for help just before 3 a.m. Authorities assisted, and the incident was resolved quickly.
Elsewhere, reckless driving reports surged throughout the day — from drivers blowing past barricades on Highway 29 to another weaving across lanes on Highway 55 in Outagamie County. No major injuries were reported, though citations may follow.
An unusual call came in around 1 p.m. from Gillett, where a property owner reported stolen chickens — believed to have been taken overnight.
And it wasn’t just chickens causing problems. In Wittenberg, cattle were loose on a property for most of the day, and near Cecil, a stray horse was spotted on Highway 22 — creating a safety hazard near the racetrack.
Later in the evening, deputies were called to investigate a suspicious vehicle possibly dumping drugs or a weapon in a Shawano driveway, while in another case, a welfare check was requested from a concerned sibling in Colorado who hadn’t heard from her brother in days.
Finally, just before 11 p.m., deputies cleared an open door at St. John’s Church in Tigerton — no signs of forced entry were found.
