A busy day for Shawano Police on June 12th, as officers responded to multiple calls ranging from disturbances to fraud and reckless driving.
Early in the morning, a woman reported being punched in the face outside a home on South Washington Street. The suspect, reportedly cut the caller’s eyebrow. Multiple officers responded, and the case remains active.
Just after 3 A.M., officers were called to a suspicious vehicle alarm on Smalley Street. No suspect was found, but the car door had been left open.
Later, a non-reportable fender bender was logged outside Dunkin Donuts—drivers exchanged information and left the scene.
At 10:30 A.M., a burglary alarm at Smoke World prompted a fast response. Officers found no forced entry, but the investigation continues.
In the afternoon, a call from Main Street reported a man staggering and yelling with a bottle in hand—officers made contact, though no arrest was noted.
And in two separate reports on Green Bay Street, reckless drivers caused concern. One involved a large black Ford truck driving erratically.
Later in the evening, a weapon offense call drew four officers to South Main Street. A fight reportedly broke out, with someone “breaking down a door.” No injuries have been confirmed, but the situation is under active review.
Police also responded to two animal-related calls, a suspected scam, and loitering at a downtown brewery.
Clintonville Police kept a visible presence across the city on Wednesday with multiple overnight business checks on South Main Street and routine extra patrols at parks and residential areas, including Elm Street, Fairway Drive, and Memorial Circle.
Officers conducted several traffic stops throughout the day, with increased activity on South Main and near West Campus Drive. A stop near Highway 45 and Fairview Drive also prompted a traffic-related investigation.
In the afternoon, police responded to two welfare checks—one on Brent Street and another on Lincoln Avenue. A harassment report on South Clinton Avenue and a citizen assist call followed later in the day.
Emergency services were dispatched just before 6 p.m. to West Morning Glory Drive for an ambulance call, and police assisted the Waupaca County Sheriff’s Office later that evening on County Highway O.
Shawano County Law enforcement stayed busy Wednesday, responding to over three dozen incidents ranging from animal complaints to a burglary in Tigerton.
It began just after midnight with a welfare check in Clintonville. Deputies confirmed all was well.
Overnight, a Clintonville resident asked for help with an injured deer along County Road N — the animal was reportedly unable to walk.
By morning, an animal bite prompted a response from the Health Department at Red River Dairy. The case is under review.
Around 10:30 a.m., a Shawano resident reported a traffic hazard after someone mowed grass onto the roadway — a common yet dangerous concern during summer months.
That afternoon, a high-speed incident on Highway 45 had law enforcement tracking a white Volkswagen with Illinois plates — witnesses reported speeds near 80 miles per hour.
More serious calls came in later, including a domestic disturbance at Lakewood Court, and an assault on North Main Street in Shawano. That case resulted in a patient transfer for reported injuries and difficulty breathing.
In Tigerton, a burglary on Maple Lane led to a trailer being stolen and damage to a building’s support beams. Deputies are investigating.
Meanwhile, loose cattle on School House Road in Wittenberg were corralled — for the third time this week.
And finally, at least three deer-related traffic accidents were logged, reminding drivers to remain alert on rural highways.
