KESHENA, WI- The College of Menominee Nation (CMN) is voicing strong opposition to proposed changes in the federal Pell Grant program and deep funding cuts to Tribal Colleges and Universities (TCUs) outlined in the Department of the Interior’s 2025-26 budget.
CMN officials say raising the threshold for full-time enrollment and eliminating Pell Grant eligibility for students enrolled less than half-time would create significant barriers to higher education for Native students and others in rural communities.
