MADISON, WI- Behind a complete-game one-hitter from Karly Meredith and a 14-hit offensive explosion, the Kaukauna Ghosts rolled past Sun Prairie East 9-1 on Wednesday at Goodman Diamond in the WIAA State Softball Tournament.
Meredith was dominant in the circle, striking out nine and walking just one over seven innings of work. She also delivered at the plate, going 2-for-4 with a home run, a triple, and five RBIs to power the undefeated Ghosts (25-0) into the Division 1 state semifinal game.
Kaukauna jumped out early with two runs in the first and blew the game open with a five-run fifth inning. Raivyn Rabideau added two hits and two RBIs, while Jozy Ebben and Madison Deering each drove in runs to extend the lead.
