Shawano police responded to an open door at Hope Community Baptist Church on Tristan Drive. Officers cleared the building and secured the door. No signs of forced entry were reported.
Later that morning, a dramatic animal rescue unfolded when a kitten was found crying under a street grate at South Prospect and Ridlington. Officers quickly responded, rescuing the soaked kitten to the relief of tearful children nearby.
Animal concerns continued as a stray terrier was found without a collar on East Randall Street and taken to the humane society.
Police also responded to a minor pedestrian accident outside Walmart. A caller said she was struck by a gray minivan that didn’t stop. Fortunately, no injuries were reported.
Tragically, a death investigation was launched at Estates Lane after a dialysis patient failed to show up for treatment. Multiple units responded after a welfare check was requested. No further details have been released.
Emergency crews were also busy with two car crashes — one involving injuries at County B and South Airport Drive, and another blocking traffic near Badgerland Tires.
And finally, overnight, a woman reported being punched in the face at a South Washington Street residence. Officers identified a suspect and are continuing the investigation.
It was a steady day for Clintonville officers, with multiple traffic stops reported throughout the city — including along West Green Tree Road, South Main Street, and near North 12th and Robert Streets. These routine stops are part of ongoing enforcement efforts.
Police also conducted several extra patrols early in the day, keeping a watchful eye on North Clinton Avenue, Elm Street, Fairway Drive, and later that night on Memorial Circle.
Two ordinance violations were investigated — one on East 2nd Street and another on Robert Street — while officers also responded to a civil complaint on Bennett Street.
Emergency services were dispatched to a 911 call on Birchtree Court late in the morning, and officers assisted another agency on West 14th Street in the afternoon.
An animal problem on North Main Street rounded out the day’s reports.
Shawano County Deputies responded to a wide range of incidents across the county, starting just after midnight with a disabled vehicle near Highway 29 and Leopolis Road, followed by a report of a reckless driver going the wrong way on the highway near County Road D.
In Pulaski, a person was found lying along the Mountain Bay Trail, prompting a suspicious activity call around 4:20 AM. He was gone by the time officers arrived.
Later that morning, officers assisted at Shawano County Jail after an inmate suffered a medical emergency, and another reckless driver on a motorcycle was spotted popping wheelies near Hofa Park Drive.
Deputies also handled threats involving harassing text messages in a domestic dispute, a welfare check for a suicidal subject in Tigerton, and an attempted fraud report involving a $30,000 stolen package.
Additional calls included multiple 911 hang-ups, an open storage unit with signs of possible trespassing, illegal trash burning in Pulcifer, and even an animal bite — a woman bottle-feeding a baby raccoon was bitten and required attention.
The Stockbridge-Munsee Police Department also assisted with a medical call and began investigating a missing person report on Apple Road.
In total, the sheriff’s office handled 27 calls for service, while Stockbridge-Munsee PD reported 2.
