SHAWANO, WI – The Shawano Police Department has welcomed its newest officer, Calvin Schultz, who officially joined the force this week.
Schultz, a Shawano native, says becoming a police officer has been a lifelong goal. “It feels good. It’s been a long time coming,” he said. “I’ve put in a lot of work to get here, so it’s nice to finally see it pay off.”
Inspired by a family history in law enforcement, including his father’s work with the sheriff’s department, Schultz says he’s always felt called to serve. Choosing Shawano as the place to begin his career was an easy decision. “I wanted to work where I grew up, where I know the people, and where I can make a difference,” he said.
Schultz hopes to build strong connections within the community, especially with local youth. “I want to do everything I can to make a positive impact, not just improving how law enforcement is seen, but helping make Shawano a better place overall,” he said.
